The Basics
Orientation Leaders must be positive, dedicated and engaged students who want to improve their communication and leadership abilities, build community with other Orientation Leaders, build their knowledge of campus practices and resources, and ultimately create a welcoming, inclusive environment for new students as they transition to college at MSU.
OLs are required to take the Orientation training course, HLD 460, which takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:30 – 6:00pm in the Spring 2024 semester.
OLs must commit to assisting with Summer 2024 Orientation programs (dates included on site above)
OLs are compensated $450 per summer Orientation session (June & July sessions) and $250 per fall Orientation session (August). In addition to course credit and payment, students benefit from incentives such as free t-shirts, free meals, campus swag and more.
