Event Spotlight
Fulbright US Student Program Introductory Webinar
December 6 at 4:30 p.m.
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers fully-funded research, study and teaching opportunities in over 140 countries to recent graduates and graduate students with U.S. citizenship.
LMU students of all majors are invited to learn more about these competitive grants, including an overview of the English Teaching Assistant (ETA) Programs and Study/Research Awards, eligibility requirements, and application timeline.

Walk-In Hours: Fulbright UK Summer Institutes
December 11 and 18; January 18 and 22
The Fulbright UK Summer Institutes are three-to-four week programmes for US freshmen and sophomores. Participants can explore the culture, heritage and history of the UK. ONIF will be holding Fulbright UKSI WALK-IN HOURS from 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. on the above dates. Students may walk-in with general questions OR bring drafts of their applications for review. 
ONIF is in University Hall, Suite 1879. Once you enter UH, head towards the Crimson Lion. Before you reach the restaurant, enter the elevator lobby on your right and walk through the metal door marked “1762-1859”. Turn right, walk towards, and enter the LMU Extension office in UH 1863. Suite 1879 is tucked in the back of the Extension offices.

All or Multiple Majors 
The AbbVie Immunology Scholarship- Deadline: January 8. Designed to provide financial support of up to $15K to exceptional students living with the following inflammatory diseases as they pursue goals of higher education: Ankylosing spondylitis (AS), Crohn's disease (CD), Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), Psoriasis (Ps), Psoriatic arthritis (PsA), Rheumatoid arthritis (RA), Ulcerative colitis (UC), Uveitis (UV).

Teaching Assistant Program in France (TAPIF)- Deadline: January 15. The Teaching Assistant Program in France (TAPIF) is a joint initiative of the French Ministry of Education, the Centre international d'études pédagogiques (CIEP) and the Cultural Services of the French Embassy.

Donald Payne International Development Graduate Fellowship- Deadline: January 18. The Payne International Development Graduate Fellowship Program seeks to attract outstanding young people who are interested in pursuing careers in the Foreign Service of the U.S. In 2018 the Program plans to award seven fellowships valued at up to $48,000 annually for a two-year master's program. Fellows who successfully complete the Payne Program and USAID Foreign Service entry requirements will receive appointments as Foreign Service Officers with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).   

Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts
Journalism in the Era of Disinformation Fellowship (JED) Fellowship- Deadline: December 31. The Journalism in the Era of Disinformation Fellowship (JED) Fellowship gives student journalists from the United States and Germany the opportunity to meet their peers and learn about the role that disinformation plays in political coverage in both countries. Each year, up to 8 German and 8 American journalism students will be selected to participate in this weeklong program in Washington, D.C. and New York, which will focus on political coverage in the U.S. and Germany and analyze the trend of “fake news”. 

First Crime Novel Writing Competition- Deadline: January 12. The Competition is open to any writer, regardless of nationality, aged 18 or older, who has never been the author of any Published Novel (in any genre), as defined by the guidelines below, (except that authors of self-published works only may enter, as long as the manuscript submitted is not the self-published work) and is not under contract with a publisher for publication of a novel.

School of Education
The Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship- Deadline: January 31. The Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship program recruits and prepares the nation's best and brightest recent graduates and career changers with STEM backgrounds to teach in middle and high school science and math classrooms in Georgia or New Jersey.

School of Film & Television
Girls Impact on the World Film Festival- Deadline: January 20. Undergraduate students submit a 3-5 minute short films that address global women's issues such as: education for girls, maternal health, violence against women and girls and a variety of other issues.
Other Notable Opportunities
Federal Diversity Internship Initiative: U.S. Government Internships- Deadline: January 17, for Summer 2018. The Washington Center offers the Federal Diversity Internship Initiative to help students from a wide variety of backgrounds access opportunities with selected government agencies. Positions are located in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area as well as in other regions across the United States. If you are selected for an internship, you will receive a stipend, a travel allowance, and be guaranteed fully-furnished, apartment style housing near your internship site.
