Good Evening,
Northeast
Fort Wayne Public Television's PBS affiliate WFWA-TV (Channel 39, Fort Wayne) will add a new digital subchannel on July 1, featuring local weather radar and National Weather Service audio. Closer to Labor Day, the station will add forecasts and live weather. The channel will be on 39.5. On May 1, Quincy Media's WISE-TV (Channel 33, Fort Wayne) dropped their local weather radar, and added Justice Network.
Northwest
Spoon River Media's Classic Rock/WLOI (1540am, La Porte) adds their new 110 watt translator W293DR (106.5fm, La Porte). If you wonder what powers Rock 106.5, it's an Elenos transmitter and a one bay Bext antenna at about 300 feet. As previously mentioned, the station will air the syndicated Bob and Tom Show in morning drive.
In 2001, Adams Radio's Classic Rock/WXRD (103.9fm, Crown Point) began airing Bob and Tom Show in morning drive. "X-Rock 103.9" moves in another direction by airing a music intensive morning drive show, locally hosted by OM/PD Scott Rosenberg. Mr. Rosenberg will be joined by Laura Waluszko (News), Karl Berner (Traffic) and Steve Zana (Sports), beginning Monday June 17.
Central
E.W. Scripps' ABC affiliate/WRTV-TV (Channel 6, Indianapolis) reporter Derrik Thomas will retire on June 28. Mr. Thomas began at RTV6 on April 13, 1979. Mr. Thomas began his journalism career in Cedar Rapids, Iowa (WMT-TV) and then worked in Minneapolis, Minnesota (KMSP-TV). Here's more coverage from RTV6.
