Indiana RadioWatch
Serving Hoosier Broadcasters Since 1998
10 August 2022
|
Good Evening:
For those new to reading IRW, welcome aboard. I've been writing about what's new at local Indiana radio and TV stations since 1998, and I've covered Fort Wayne radio and TV stations since 1994. I'm still based in Fort Wayne. I've divided the state into 9 regions, and I cover what's new - region by region.
For my longtime readers -- I apologize, as I didn't mean to be offline so long -- between work and family, I've been busy. I want to give a huge thank you to all of you -- the stories that appear in tonight's IRW were exclusively sent to me by my readers. If you have a story to share, just click 'reply' to this e-mail, and send me your story!
Let's get started!
From the Reading List: YouTube hit Channel 5 News is “reporting for people who don’t watch the news.”
From the Reading List: What the Facebook changes of 2022 mean for local news outlets.
Before we dig into the region by region news, perhaps your radio station runs 'Radio Health Journal' or 'Viewpoints Radio'. Media Tracks Communications sold those two shows to American Urban Radio Networks. Terms weren't disclosed, and both Shel Lustig and Reed Pence will continue voicing the shows. Bob Heymann of the Chicago office of Media Services Group served as the broker for Media Tracks.
Northeast
Nexstar CBS affiliate/WANE-TV (Channel 15, Fort Wayne) evening anchor Alyssa Ivanson will continue anchoring the 5pm and 6pm newscasts but won’t be on the 11pm newscast as much. That’s because she adds Special Projects Producer responsibilities.
Gray Television has multiple affiliations in Fort Wayne: WPTA-TV (Channel 21, Fort Wayne) has ABC on their .1, NBC on their .2, and MyNetworkTV on their .3. They also own CW affiliate WISE-TV (Channel 33, Fort Wayne), which also has 6 subchannels (True Crime Network, Grit, Court TV, Start TV, Me-TV, and DABL).

Succeeding Mr. Mullooly behind the anchor desk is reporter Kelsey Mannix. Also, reporter Nico Pennisi will leave WFFT-TV and become a reporter for Scripps' ABC affiliate/WRTV-TV (Channel 6, Indianapolis).
Adams' CHR/WJFX (107.9fm, New Haven) names Taylor Morgan as their new PD. Ms. Morgan joined Adams Radio Group in 2014 and continues in middays at ‘Hot 107.9’ and nights for sister Country/WBTU (93.3fm, Kendallville).
