This week, we’re highlighting the placement exams some students may need to complete before course registration next month. The language placement exams are for students interested in taking language their first semester or have a language requirement for their major, such as SIS. The math placement exam is only needed for a few majors with a Calculus requirement, so check the website to see if your major requires it!
As a reminder, our first-year students have guaranteed on-campus housing. At this point in the summer you're able to choose your roommate(s) and get assigned a timeslot to select your room. This is a rolling process, so don't worry if you haven't found your roommate(s) yet! Instructions from Housing & Residence Life was shared in last week's newsletter, which you can find on the orientation website!
You'll also find out more about accommodations available to students, from housing to academic support and beyond.

Hey there, new Eagles! As you step into the vibrant world of university life, remember that one of the secret ingredients to your success here at AU is getting involved! Whether you're into clubs and organizations, club sports, volunteering, or even pursuing hobbies that ignite your passion, these activities offer a fantastic opportunity to broaden your horizons and deepen your learning beyond the confines of the classroom.
Think about it this way: while your lectures provide the foundation, it's through these extracurricular avenues that you can often get to apply that knowledge in real-world scenarios, develop invaluable skills like leadership and teamwork, and forge lifelong friendships with like-minded individuals who share your interests. So, when you are ready, explore the plethora of opportunities waiting for you, and let your college journey be a rich tapestry woven with unforgettable experiences and personal growth!

You must register for classes to generate a bill, which will be posted to the student’s Eagle Service Account. Once registered, payment for the fall semester is due August 1. In order for families and other sponsors to view or pay the bill, your student must grant you proxy access. You’ll find a simple list of tuition and fees, instructions on how to view an itemized version of the student bill and payment options on the Student Accounts website.
