State Rep Takes Action with DetecTogether to Champion Early Detection Dialogue
We were honored to join Massachusetts State Representative Hannah Kane and the Cancer Awareness Caucus for an important discussion on Early Cancer Detection. Representative Kane shared, "The Cancer Awareness Caucus, which I chair, hosted a briefing with DetecTogether on the importance of early cancer detection and treatment."
As Representative Kane emphasized,
"DetecTogether provides education on early cancer symptoms and how individuals can advocate for themselves in healthcare settings, giving them the tools they need to find and treat cancer before it reaches later stages. Early detection and treatment improve health outcomes and reduces the need for more invasive treatments, saving patients money and improving their likelihood of survival.”

Meet Chief Matt Alba: DetecTogether's Advocate of the Month and Surviving Cancer
We are honored to celebrate Chief Matt Alba, the San Francisco Fire Department's Battalion Chief of Health and Safety and Director of the San Francisco Firefighters Cancer Prevention Foundation.
Chief Alba, surviving cancer himself, is dedicated to the fight for early cancer detection, wellness, and safety for firefighters. 🚒
In 2022, he brought DetecTogether to the San Francisco Fire Department to host a Train the Trainer event, empowering firefighters to share life-saving early detection tools with their departments. Since then, SFFD has trained over 1,600 members and made early cancer detection part of the department's culture, resulting in SFFD firefighters addressing health issues sooner and achieving early diagnosis. The conversation continues...
In Matt’s words, his mission is simple but powerful: "Get firefighters 30 in and 30 out." And 3 Steps Detect® can help SFFD do just that.

High School Movement: Empowering Students to Take Charge of Their Health
Sophomores at Milford (MA) High School recently gained valuable, actionable health skills through DetecTogether's 3 Steps Detect program. This engaging and interactive session provided students with tools to become proactive about their health and well-being.
One student shared, “I’ve learned the importance of sharing everything with my doctor during a visit. In the past, I held back and didn’t share everything about my health, but now I see the value of being open and honest.”
With DetecTogether’s hands-on education, young adults take control of their health, understand their role in early detection, and learn how to act when it matters most. They’re building habits that can save lives—starting now. 💪
