New interim leaders announced in Academic Affairs |
Provost Shelly Chabon has announced two interim leadership appointments within Academic Affairs.
Eki Yandall has been appointed Interim Vice Provost for Enrollment Management. In this role, he will join the Academic Leadership Team (ALT) and the Provost’s Executive Council. Yandall will serve until the university hires a permanent Vice Provost for Strategic Enrollment and Student Engagement, a new position created to lead Enrollment Management following its move to Academic Affairs.
Following the retirement of Michele Toppe, Vice Provost of Student Affairs, Dana Tasson has been appointed Interim Vice Provost of Student Affairs. Tasson will take on additional leadership responsibilities for the Office of Student Affairs while continuing to serve as Associate Vice Provost for Student Health and Wellbeing in SHAC. He will hold this expanded role until the permanent Vice Provost for Strategic Enrollment and Student Engagement is hired as part of the Academic Affairs reorganization.

Weigh in on proposed cuts to TriMet service near PSU |
TriMet is proposing significant service cuts in the coming year that may affect the PSU community, including the MAX Green Line no longer running to downtown/PSU and the elimination of several bus lines (19, 32, 39, and 82, among others). TriMet will host an on-campus open house this Thursday, to discuss the proposal and gather feedback. Community members can also review the full proposal and submit comments online through Jan. 31, 2026, at trimet.org/servicecuts.

It’s time to submit Ed Abroad proposals for 2027 |
Education Abroad is now accepting proposals for Faculty-Led Programs offered during Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall 2027.
Faculty-led programs offer immersive, high-impact learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom, promoting hands-on engagement, meaningful connections and global learning aligned with PSU’s mission. Before submitting a proposal, faculty are expected to complete the required Program Leader Development Trainings and review the Program Leader Toolkit, which provides guidance on the submission and review process.
The submission deadline is March 31.

Volunteers needed to review scholarship applications |
Faculty and staff are invited to volunteer as reviewers for the PSU General Scholarship Application. Reviewers help connect students with critical financial support by evaluating scholarship submissions during the annual review cycle. No prior experience is required, and training will be provided in January and February. Reviewing is a flexible, time-limited commitment that can be completed remotely.
