The Spring 2019 Final Exam Schedule Has Been Posted
The final exam schedule has been posted for Spring 2019! Students are asked to double-check the schedule in order to determine whether or not they have a conflict. A conflict is defined as two exams scheduled at the same time or four exams scheduled in one day. Please report any conflicts to the Principal’s Office. As always, during final exam days, students are required to be present only during the times they have exams. It is always difficult to find alternative times to take final exams and often it has a detrimental effect on a student’s performance on the exam. Therefore, we ask families to please make every effort to schedule around final exams so that all students are present at their assigned exam times. If you have any questions about finals scheduling please contact Shani Simonson in the Principal’s Office at ssimonson@brebeuf.org.

Student Spotlight
Charlie Dapp '19
Loves About Brebeuf From the moment I stepped on Brebeuf’s campus, I knew there was something special about the way things functioned here and the people who walked the halls. In my four years, I have realized that this feeling came from the truly amazing connection that students and teachers have, the ability for students to manage their time through PRTs, and the emphasis on the Ignatian teachings. For these reasons, I will forever cherish my time at Brebeuf and all that I learned. Future Plans Next year, I plan to attend the University of Notre Dame and study Finance in the Mendoza College of Business. After college, I would love to do something in the field of private equity, but my future is yet to be determined in that manner.
Favorite Class Even though I could say that I have truly enjoyed every class I have taken at Brebeuf because of my general love of learning, I think my favorite classes have to be AP Macro and AP Micro with Mr. Tague. The energy, joy, and passion that he brings each and every day to teaching excites me for what I may learn next.
Teams & Co-Curriculars - Executive Council
- Co-President of Investment Club
- President of Entrepreneurship Club
- K107 leader
- National Honor Society
- Ignatian Scholar
- Admissions Ambassador
- Football (4 years)
- Track (3 years)
- Ultimate Frisbee (1 year)
Random Facts - I can do a pretty good Donald Duck voice.
- In 11 years of playing tackle football, I never had any severe injuries, concussions, or broken bones.
- After a misdiagnosed ultimate frisbee injury, I wore a cast for a week on an arm that wasn’t broken.
What is your current favorite show or series on TV, Netflix, etc. Currently, I have really been into Friends, but I have also really enjoyed watching The Office and Mindhunter.
What is the silliest/most irrational fear you have? That there is a creepy, snoring man sleeping in a hidden attic space in my room.
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be? I would have pizza because there are so many different types of pizza to enjoy.
The Senior Assassins game is in full-swing. Are you still alive in the game? If not, how did you lose? Unfortunately, I died in the second round of the game after getting my second kill. I went out on a controversial note where I thought I got away without being hit, but my assassin thought they got me. To settle the debate, we had an epic rock, paper, scissors battle to determine my fate. Well, let’s just say that didn’t go my way. You are now in your final semester at Brebeuf Jesuit. Has it sunk in yet? I feel like it is finally hitting me because of all the talk about AP exams, the events of Senior Week, and the lingering presence of my upcoming graduation. Even though it’s now in my mind that I’m about to leave and move on to college, it’s still going to be really tough to leave since I have so many good memories with my brother, Will, from the Class of 2021 and as my youngest brother, Jimmy, is just about to join the Brebeuf family.
In what way have you changed the most since your freshman year? My growth and change as a person at Brebeuf hinges on the Grad at Grad of being open to growth and on stepping out of my comfort zone. During my freshman year, I was so intensely focused on sticking to my own schedule and constantly studying my hardest that I missed out on many opportunities to grow closer to my classmates and to explore amazing experiences. However, with the helpful push of my parents, I decided to host an exchange student and then spend two weeks in Barcelona with this same student. Even though I was initially very reluctant to miss school for this trip, it completely altered my life and the way I viewed opportunities. By stepping outside of my comfort zone and living in a completely unknown world with a family I just met, I figured out that spontaneity and trying new things is a great way to go through life. To drive home my transformation, I again decided to leave the country and study at Oxford University with a group of Brebeuf students over Spring Break during my junior year. Back in the United States, I think that the most powerful influence to my transformation was going on Kairos my junior year and then having the privilege of leading Kairos the next year. In Kairos, I found an opportunity to grow deeper in friendship with my classmates and see how we all go through similar struggles. Going into college, I believe that this new and improved outlook will help me explore many new experiences that my young freshman self would have never imagined possible.
