Weekly news updates and enrichment activities brought to you by the Netter Center team
November 2ND, 2020

Dear UACS families,

Thank you for your patience, trust, and understanding as we've continued to collectively navigate the unchartered territory of COVID closures. We appreciate everything you've done to keep your family connected to online learning and enrichment with the Netter Center. Enrollment is still open for any additional students interested in engaging with our virtual programs.
In the wake of the killing of West Philadelphia resident, Walter Wallace Jr., please read the following statement from the Netter Center's founding director, staff, and Community Advisory Board here. For mental health support during this time, you can click here for more information on family-based services, or call/text 2-833-PHL-HOPE from M-F, 10am-8pm to speak with a Hopeline clinician.
Finally, Election Day is tomorrow Tuesday, Nov. 3rd. If you have not yet voted, please visit our resources (directly below) for finding your polling place and voting on election day. Your vote matters!

Halloween Highlight!
During Arts & Crafts this week students and staff celebrated Halloween with colorful, spooky masterpieces. See pictures below!

We also re-introduced providing SEL (social-emotional learning)  activities in the main room before breakout room sessions start to check-in mentally with students and staff. During one activity, Penn student Melissa Feinman asked everyone to think of a special place that makes them happy. We spent time thinking of this place and then were asked to draw it. If you're struggling this week, consider trying this activity on your own or with your family!
