To Text or Not to Text

Good and clear communication with clients and other REALTORS is important to a successful relationship. Texting offers a quick way to update each other but it is likely not appropriate for all situations. Consider this scenario shared recently in a July 2017 REALTOR Magazine article,
"Texting during the tense waiting period for a response to your client's offer can also pose hazards, which Lindsay Katz, a sales associate with Redfin in Los Angeles, learned the hard way. "I was texting a client and he said, 'Let me know if you hear anything'. Then, without seeing his text, I put my phone down since I was with other clients. I later texted him, 'You got it' meaning I'll tell you as soon as I hear. He wrote, 'I can't believe we got it; I'm so excited'. This was an eye-opener. He thought he got the house and I had to call to say he didn't."
For more examples to consider read the entire article "Moments When Clients Don't Want You to Text". For other tips on communication, visit the Communication Video Series page on the SWRA website.

Philadelphia Area Schools Highly Ranked in STEM Education

Niche.com analyzed all 15,310 public high schools in the state of PA and graded them on their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) programs. The rankings were determined by taking into consideration the school's average SAT and ACT math scores, math proficiency levels and AP math and science class enrollment. Fifteen of the top 25 schools are within the Philadelphia area, including four of the top five. The Niche website focuses on ranking and reviewing schools and neighborhood.
