Goodbye 2022 and Welcome 2023!

Hello and Happy New Year to the NESA Community! We hope that you have all had a restful and enjoyable holiday season and are as excited about the new year as we are. We have another action-packed season of programs and activities to offer you and look forward to welcoming you back to the recreation centre.

To ensure you are up to date on all things NESA we wanted to share some important information with you as we prepare for the start of our Winter 2023 season.

Important Dates to Remember

Book, Puzzle, and Jewelry Sale - January 5-7, 2023

Winter 2023 Season Begins - Monday, January 9, 2023

Valentine's Day Tea - February 10, 2023

Three-Day Book Sale at NESA!

Did you hear about the book who fell in love with another book? It was bound to happen!

We've got tons of donated books and we don't know what the shelf to do with them all!

As you know, reading is a novel idea and book sales are good for circulation so, mark your calendars and book it to NESA!

Thursday, January 5 to Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 9:00am-3:00pm.

Books and Puzzles will also be on sale for all three days (or until all sold out!). The Cherrydale Cafe will also be open!

Cash sales only. ATM on site.

Fitness Centre and Outreach Foodraiser

NESA's Fitness Centre and Outreach team have partnered up again this year to raise more food donations to help keep its emergency food pantry stocked up for seniors who may be in need of an emergency food hamper. From now until January 12, we will be collecting food donations in the fitness centre or at the front desk.

Anyone who wishes to donate will receive a ballot form to be entered to win a fitness centre package which includes some portable fitness equipment, NESA swag, and fitness centre passes.

Register for your Winter '23 Programs before they're CANCELLED!

Haven't signed up for your programs yet? Did you plan to join us at NESA for the WInter '23 season? Please don't delay and be sure to sign up today! Enrollment will be reviewed this week and if we haven't met the required capacity minimums by the end of the week, we will have to postpone or cancel your beloved programs.

Be sure to register and remind your friends to do the same - we want to make sure that all of our programs proceed as scheduled!

Free Exercise Classes!

Looking for something to get you moving?! Join Jollean for a FREE fitness class this week or next! (January 6 or 11, 2023).

In lieu of class fees, we ask you to bring a non-perishable food item that NESA can put towards its Outreach department’s seniors' emergency food hamper pantry.

Need help getting to NESA?

With the support from a New Horizons Federal Grant and in collaboration with Drive Happiness, NESA members in need of assistance with getting to their programs are encouraged to call Outreach Services at 780-496-3171 or 780-414-8790 to determine if they may be eligible for our new transportation subsidy program.
