Join us for Wordplay!
April is officially Wordplay month. Wordplay is LVCA's annual fundraising event held each spring at The Paramount Theater—and we want you there!
Wordplay is a team-based trivia competition for people who love words, vocabulary, pop culture, history, literature, and showing off their smarts. Each team is comprised of three members. The audience is invited to play along and cheer for their favorite team! 
Team registration is still open, and 35 teams have registered to compete so far.
A team sponsorship of $600 covers the cost of supplying educational services to one student for six months.
If team competition isn't for you, join us as an audience member! Tickets are $20 and can be purchased from The Paramount's Box Office. We'll give you your own answer sheet so you can play along. Audience members can also vote in our "Best Team Name" and "Best Costume" competitions.

Crowdsource Your Way
Want to officially join in on the fun at Wordplay with a team? One great option is to crowdsource! On the team registration page, click the link saying that you will crowdsource your team, and you'll be on your way! 
Currently, we have two teams that are actively crowdsourcing—the C'Ville Scrabble Club's Headline News and Best Western, which is made up of current and former teachers at Western Albemarle High School. Consider helping them reach their goal and support them today by clicking the link below!

Volunteer Registration


From scorekeepers to raffle ticket sellers, it takes about 75 volunteers to run Wordplay successfully. This is a high-energy and fast-paced event full of fun for everyone involved.
Wordplay volunteers receive dinner, one free drink, and a great night out, helping us raise as much money as possible for the students of LVCA.

We have something for everyone in our raffle this year! Whether it's staying for two nights at the Omni Homestead, a round of golf with friends at the Glenmore Country Club, or taking the family out for a day to Massanutten Water Park, we have you covered! This year, each raffle ticket will allow you an entry to your choice of prize. 
Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. Tickets will be available to purchase in our office soon, but you can also enter to win online by clicking the link below. Be sure to keep checking the online page; we'll continue adding prizes as the event draws closer. 
You do not need to be present to win. Of course, you can also buy your tickets at the event.
