New report calls for actions to improve air quality

The Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute released a breakthrough report designed to inform Utah's efforts to improve air quality and address a changing climate. The report, called The Utah Roadmap, was requested by the Utah Legislature and includes seven priority strategies to reduce air emissions in Utah.

Hygiene Kit Drive

The state of Utah is the proud home to over 65,000 refugees from over 40 nations around the world. Many of these individuals and their families, in their pursuit of a better life, are supported by local nonprofit Utah Refugee Connection. As part of the second annual Inclusion Week, our students will be supporting the work of this organization by collecting supplies and donations, which will be used to assemble basic hygiene kits for refugee families.

Hope Scholarship will support more first-generation students

A new scholarship is bringing HOPE to low-and-moderate income, first-generation students in Salt Lake City.

The HOPE scholarship, which stands for Helping Our People Excel, was announced in December as a private-public collaboration between Salt Lake City and the Semnani Family Foundation, who have jointly seeded the $150,000 scholarship fund. Eligible students will receive up to $7,000 per academic year, allowing them to close the gap between other scholarships and financial aid to cover the cost of tuition and fees.
