Merten Lab’s Research is Published |
Research by Dr. Jonathan Merten, professor of chemistry, undergraduate researchers Shealynn Chestnut and Marybeth Foster, and a colleague at Florida has been published in Spectrochimica Acta Part B: Atomic Spectroscopy. Their work features a technique developed by Merten’s lab to use atomic absorption measurements for mapping distribution of extremely hot material in short-lived plasmas, formed by ablating samples with pulsed lasers. The technique also might be used to measure the isotope ratio of gaseous samples of uranium hexafluoride.
