Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program- Deadline: September 27! This highly selective, rigorous leadership program recruits graduate students who are U.S. citizens for appointments as Fellows in the Federal Government. Selected individuals commit to a two-year, full-time, paid fellowship at a Federal agency. Here is a sampling of degrees and disciplines for which the Federal Government may have positions:

Louis Stokes Educational Scholarships from the Defense Intelligence Agency- Deadline: October 23. The Defense Intelligence Agency seeks highly motivated freshmen and sophomores who are US Citizens to develop skills critical to the mission of DIA. Candidates must have a household income ceiling of $70,000 annually for a family of four or fewer; $80,000 annually for a family of five or more is required. 3.0 GPA required. Scholars work every summer with DIA and receive up to $18K per year in tuition, support for books and fees, a bi-weekly salary, full benefits, and permanent employment upon graduation. Princeton in Africa Fellowships (PiAf)- Deadline: October 26. Princeton in Africa helps future leaders develop lifelong connections to the people and nations of Africa. We offer highly selective yearlong fellowships to recent college graduates with organizations across the African continent; we enable our Fellows, through their work, to make significant contributions to Africa’s well-being; and we encourage our Fellows to cultivate meaningful relationships with communities in Africa and with one another. There is a $75 application fee and varying placement fee. However, they offer application waivers or reductions for those with demonstrated need.

VIA Global Community Fellowship- Priority Deadline: October 30. A 13-15 month program for graduating seniors and young/ established professionals. Fellows work at NGOs, schools, universities, and social enterprises across Asia to support community development and youth education programs. By working directly with communities, fellows get hands-on experience learning how organizations in Asia are using creative and innovative methods to address critical social challenges. The fellowship is fully funded by VIA, with support from alumni, grants, and our partners. However, airfare and visa costs are not included. Placements are available in Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, and Japan. Read this short bio on LMU alum, Laura Galang '19, who taught English in Indonesia in 2019.

**New Award** Chick-fil-A Community Scholarship- Deadline: November 2. Chick-fil-A is expanding its support of higher education outside its stores for the first time—and college undergrads and graduate students are invited to apply. Up to 12 $25,000 Chick-fil-A Community Scholarships will be awarded based on academic success, community service, and financial need. Applicants must be residents of the U.S. or Canada, and must be a postsecondary undergraduate or graduate student or planning to enroll in undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited school for the 2023-2024 academic year. In addition, applicants must have a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale), demonstrate care through community service during the last twelve months and be recommended by 1-3 teachers, coaches, community leaders or mentors.

USAID Donald Payne International Development Graduate Fellowship- Deadline: November 4. The fellowship seeks to attract and prepare outstanding graduating seniors or recent grads for careers as USAID Foreign Service Officers. Payne Fellows receive up to $22,000 annually toward tuition, fees and living expenses for a two-year master’s degree in fields related to the Foreign Service such as development, economics, public administration, business administration, global health, agriculture, or environmental science at a U.S.-based institution. Must be a U.S. citizent to apply.

Biology Division of the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) Student Travel Grants- Deadline: September 28! Selected students may receive up to present original biological research results at a regional or national, discipline-specific meeting during the fiscal year 2022-2023. Grant recipients are required to acknowledge CUR for support of their travel in their talk or poster, to complete a short online survey about their meeting experience, and to submit a PDF file of their poster. Students from all diverse backgrounds and perspectives are encouraged to apply.

Pulitzer Center Teacher Fellowship- Deadline: September 28! How can engagement with under-reported global news stories support existing curricula, while also preparing students to engage curiously, critically, and empathetically with the world? As part of this paid, virtual fellowship, a small cohort of educators will explore this question in community with other passionate fellows, award-winning journalists, and the Pulitzer Center education team. LALIFF Inclusion Fellowship- Deadline: September 30! LALIFF’s Inclusion Fellowship Series, sponsored by NETFLIX, is an ongoing program focused on building a more inclusive and equitable industry for all members of the Latino community. The Fellowship will be awarded to five visionary directors that identify as Indigenous Latino and five visionary directors that identify as Afro Latino. The ten selected participants will receive $30,000 each and mentorship from industry professionals to complete their films. Completed films will premiere at LALIFF 2023. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
