Welcome, Grow, Serve and Celebrate!
Welcome, Grow, Serve and Celebrate!
                                                                                                           November 22, 2017

You are invited to join us on our Advent Journey:
every Sunday, November 26th - December 17th,
at 8:30 & 10:45 am

and on
December 24th - It's Christmas Eve all day!
Scripture, Song, Communion and Candles
at 10:00 am, 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm.

Our Advent journey begins this Sunday, and it will be a season of invitation at Parkway Hills!  We invite you to fully live into this season through worship, prayer through song, and by daily devotional reading using Enuma Okoro’s book, “Silence and Other Surprising Invitations of Advent”.
(Begin reading the meditation for Day 1 on December 1st. If you did not order a book, you can download a Kindle version HERE.)
You may engage in children and youth ministry opportunities, serve by simply showing up to eat at Schlotzsky’s December 4th to support Backpack Buddies, and most importantly, listen for God’s still small voice in the busyness of the season. As we reflect on invitation, we will also wrestle with the question, “What invitation do I need from God this season?  What do I need to receive?” We will hear from some of our brothers and sisters in worship as they share what invitation they are seeking this season and we'll lift up our own. I hope you will commit to making worship this Advent part of your journey as we all strive to GROW our faith and prepare to fully receive Emmanuel, God with us!
  Peace in Christ,
Dawn
Theology on Tap meets at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, November 28th, (and the 4th Tuesday of every month), at Ronnie Musgrove's home. This Tuesday, share the tap with Emad Al-Turk, the co-founder, president and CEO of the International Museum of Muslim Cultures in Jackson. Emad is another wonderful "Interfaith Ambassador" who seeks to educate the public about Islamic history, culture, and the contributions of Muslims to world civilization. Come learn, question, explore facts and myths, and help promote understanding between our cultures and faiths.
A Women's Ministry Opportunity to SERVE:
There are about a dozen residents of The Home Place, (an assisted living facility in Madison), that need someone to share the love of Christ with them this holiday season. Join Teresa Whitehead on Saturday, December 2nd, from 10:00 am until noon in The Garden, to create beautiful wreaths to share with these dear folks, brightening their Christmas season. Supplies will be provided, but if you have a glue gun, extra ribbon or any un-needed ornaments on hand, please bring them to help fill out the wreaths.
For more information, contact Teresa.

Giving to Parkway Hills United Methodist Church is now as convenient as ordering a book or buying tickets to a football game online with our new, free e-giving mobile app, Give+ Church.
After downloading Give+ from the App Store, giving is as easy as 1-2-3:
  1. Search Give+ for PHUMC using “Parkway Hills” or “39110” and select the church.
  2. Select a fund(s) and the amount(s) you want to donate and enter your credit/debit card or bank account information.
  3. Submit your donation.
You may choose to donate as a guest or create an account so you can easily log in with your email address to make additional donations, set up or manage recurring donations, and review your Give+ donation history.
