Traffic Advisory: Construction Activity Along N. Ithan Avenue - Beginning September 25th, 2024
|
Beginning September 25th, 2024, there will be traffic impacts on North Ithan Avenue between Lancaster Avenue and County Line Road related to construction activity for the new M-1 parking garage at Villanova University.
Trucks are scheduled to deliver concrete panels for the parking garage beginning September 25th and will continue Monday through Friday, from 7:00AM to 3:00PM until November 15th. Please be advised that motorists may experience intermittent delays as traffic is paused to allow trucks to enter and exit the construction site on North Ithan Ave. To avoid traffic delays, please plan an alternative route around N. Ithan Avenue when possible.
We thank you for your patience as we work to improve our on-campus experience. Please contact neighbors@villanova.edu with questions.

Debate Night in America: First Debate Between Trump and Harris
CNN
"This is really the job interview of a lifetime," said Mark Alexander, the Arthur J. Kania Dean and Professor of Law at the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, of Kamala Harris' first debate with Donald Trump. "It's an interesting situation where she has to introduce herself to the world as the presidential candidate and reintroduce herself as the vice president."

The Skies Over Philly Are About to Get a New Star as a Result of a Cosmic Cataclysm
The Philadelphia Inquirer (subscription may be required to view)
When will the star explosion happen? It already has, about 3,000 years ago, around... the golden age of the Villanovan people, who overran northern Italy. While that may seem a long time ago, in terms of cosmic time, this qualifies as breaking news, said Edward Sion, astrophysicist at Villanova University, which has no connection with the Villanovans, nor the nova in question.

Is Pa. in the Midwest? Depends if It's Youse or Yinz Talking.
The Philadelphia Inquirer (subscription may be required to view)
A Bloomberg poll from 2019 asked, "Where is the Midwest?" Around 35% of Pittsburgh residents said they think they wake up in it each morning. "Put together a group of Western Pennsylvania students," said Villanova University geography professor Frank Galgano, "then give them maps and ask them which state they most closely identify with. They'd say Ohio every time."

On View Now: Nancy Baker Cahill: Through Lines, Now through January 17th, 2025 |
Introducing Nancy Baker Cahill: Through Lines, a mid-career survey exhibition traveling from the Georgia Museum of Art.
Expanding upon her background in traditional media, the artist redefines the possibilities of drawing in contemporary art. Through Lines moves across spatial dimensions and media, following Baker Cahill as she investigates materiality and immateriality. Featuring drawings, sculptural installations, and single- and multi-channel videos, the exhibition traces Baker Cahill’s mark-making from traditional modes of artistic production into new media. The works invite reconsiderations of the art historical canon in the face of emerging technologies while examining site, time, and space as they relate to the physical body, the digital, the permanent, and the ephemeral.
Through Lines is on view now through January 17th, 2025 at the Art Gallery.
