Villanova University Celebrates Women's History Month 2024 |
From the Media Room: Villanova University will celebrate Women’s History Month with empowering and informative community-based events. March marks a month-long celebration of the contributions of women in history and contemporary society, and programming includes professional panels, conversational opportunities, alumni events and more.
The Villanova School of Business will host Melissa Draganac-Hawk, a first-generation American of deaf immigrant Peruvian parents on Thursday, March 21, for their Women’s History Month Spotlight Speaker Series. Draganac-Hawk will present on her experiences as a diversity, equity and inclusion advocate and discuss women's issues and challenges in the workplace.
The Gender and Women’s Studies program in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will host their 33rd annual conference on Friday, March 22. The conference celebrates research examining gender and sexuality produced by students from Villanova and other local institutions. This year’s keynote speaker is Nancy J. Hirschmann, PhD, Geraldine R. Segal Professor in American Social Thought and professor of Political Science and Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies at the University of Pennsylvania.
On Wednesday, March 27, Joseph Lennon, PhD, associate dean, International and Interdisciplinary Initiatives and Emily C. Riley Director of Irish Studies, will present on the 1909 Hunger Strike of Marion Wallace-Dunlop as part of the Albert Lepage Center for History in the Public Interest’s ongoing event series Lunch@Lepage. Wallace-Dunlop was a Scottish-born member of the Women’s Social and Political Union and the first suffragette hunger striker.

Villanova University Recognizes John G. Drosdick’s Ongoing Commitment to the College of Engineering’s Building Expansion Project by Naming the Building in his Honor |
From the Media Room: Villanova University President, the Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, today announced that in recognition of $20 million in support of the College of Engineering building expansion project by John G. Drosdick ’65, retired chief executive officer and president of Sunoco, Inc., the College’s soon-to-be-completed new building will be named Drosdick Hall.
“I cannot thank John enough for his unwavering support of Villanova and the College of Engineering,” said University President the Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD. “This is a momentous time for the College of Engineering and the entire Villanova University community. Drosdick Hall will enhance the Villanova Engineering experience for generations.”

Join us on Sunday, March 24th for our annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Oreo!
Activities begin at 11 AM and the hunt will begin at 11:30 AM. We will have appearances from the Easter Bunny, Will D. Cat, and activities both indoors and outdoors for all.
This event takes place at the Ellipse, in the center of Villanova's Main Campus. Indoor activities are located in Dougherty Hall, number 23 on the campus map.
This event is rain or shine, but in case of inclement weather, activities will be moved indoors to Dougherty Hall.

Special Documentary Screening: Burden of Memory, April 17th - 7PM |
Please join us at the Cinema in the Connelly Center on April 17th at 7 PM for a special documentary screening of Burden of Memory, the story of Lt. Col. Bill Bonelli. This award-winning film focuses on "Bill's final years, and his reconciliation with the life he lived—both within and outside of his military service."
Space is limited and registration is required. We hope to see you there.

The Friends of Villanova program is offered by Villanova University to our neighbors in Radnor Township and select neighborhoods in Lower Merion Township that are contiguous to our main campus.
Residents of Radnor and select areas of Lower Merion may, for an annual fee of $60, access University facilities such as the Fitness Center at the Davis Center and the Pavilion Pool, on a limited recreational basis.
Please visit villanova.edu/fovmembership to complete a membership application. Please allow 3-5 business days for staff to complete the review and verification process. Once the process is complete, you will be notified of your status via email.

New Applications and Renewals
All new applications and membership renewals must be initiated online at www.villanova.edu/fovmembership.
All approved members must complete the membership process at the Wildcard Office in person. Wildcards may only be issued to the verified member to whom it is assigned.
