At Wednesday's board meeting the RVRMA Board of Directors acknowledged the final vote tally for the Fourth Amendment which exceeded the two thirds necessary threshold to pass. This amendment restricts the rental of a property to a minimum term of 30 consecutive days. The Amendment became effective and enforceable when it was officially filed with the county on January 25, 2024. 

As a reminder, per existing language in our Governing Documents, all leases are required to be filed with RVRMA.

Deadline for Removal January 31

Per the RVR Holiday Lighting policy, "Lighting may be on until January 31. Holiday yard ornaments/décor, visible holiday lights and house icicle lights must be off and removed by January 31. Outdoor tree lights must be turned off after January 31, but homeowners have until March 1 to remove tree lights."

This weekend is the perfect time to coordinate your holiday décor removal before the deadline!

The Old Town Advisory Committee will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 6:30 p.m. Old Town owners can attend in person in the Ranch House board room or via zoom.

At Wednesday’s board meeting the RVRMA Board of Directors voted and unanimously approved to send the Long-Range Plan and associated special assessment out to the community for a vote. As a part of the motion the board set a 90 day voting period to commence in early February.

Please use extra caution when driving through RVR during winter months. When the roads are icy and snowpacked, speeding becomes an even bigger risk. A speeding vehicle on slippery roads will increase the chances of a crash so please consider your safety and the safety of those around you.

The Vail Daily Newspaper recently ran an article concerning pedestrian safety. Click here to view an important image that was highlighted in the article. Pedestrians are significantly less likely to survive collisions with vehicles that occur when the vehicles are traveling at faster speeds.

Carbondale has a major geothermal demonstration project that is one of only 11 nationwide to receive a grant from the Dept of Energy. The operation involves drilling into the ground to measure its geothermal (heat) properties. This year, the design team will analyze the geothermal potential and design heating system retrofits for some of Carbondale's buildings. The project will showcase a clean energy solution to reduce or eliminate natural gas for heat. The concepts being tested here could be replicated widely and become one of the key tactics to driving down greenhouse gas emissions in other rural communities.
