| Coaching to Success
People Inc.’s Life Quality Coaching (LQC) Program helps an average of 50 individuals each month, and provides each with the opportunity to work towards a goal that does not necessarily fit into the box of traditional programming. Individuals work closely with a life quality coach to achieve their goals in a three to six month time span, enough time to gain the confidence and tools needed to move forward with the goal on their own. | People Inc. Receives Grant from First Niagara Foundation
Our Life Quality Coaching Program recently received a $5,000 boost from the First Niagara Foundation so that we can keep the success stories coming! In addition to supporting the overall program, the funds will help young women in our program learn personal finance skills like budgeting and saving. To learn more, click here.

| Program Participants Gain Practical Skills
Participants from our Young Adult Life Transitions Program recently began interning at our Museum of disABILITY History to build their vocational skills. They have gained experience working the cash register, learning about exhibits and answering phones. Participants happily shared what they enjoy:

| Community Leaders Named to People Enterprises Board
Six area leaders have been appointed to the board of directors of People Enterprises, a for profit corporation that was recently formed to identify and implement innovative ideas to help People Inc. advance its mission. Board members will serve one year, renewable terms and will be responsible for reviewing plans and strategies, offering insights and acting as a sounding board for new business development. USDA Homeownership Workshop
The offices of U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and USDA Rural Development are offering a free USDA Homeownership Workshop on February 24, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Genesee County Building 2, 3837 West Main Street Road, Batavia. Advocate for Direct Support Professionals
Your support is needed to encourage Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to include staff who support individuals with disabilities in his proposed minimum wage increase. While Governor Cuomo has proposed a $15 minimum wage for all, he has not put funding in for direct support professionals, special education staff and other workers whose rate is set by the state. Film Screening of Capturing Grace
The Museum of disABILITY History Film and Speaker Series will feature Capturing Grace on Saturday, March 12, with two showings at 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. A reception will take place between showings at 5 p.m., at the Museum of disABILITY History, 3826 Main Street, Buffalo. Capturing Grace is about dancers with Parkinson’s disease joining forces with a famed modern dance company to stage a unique performance.
The event is co-hosted by the Museum of disABILITY History and Danceability. Admission is free; donations accepted for the Museum of disABILITY History, Danceability and the National Parkinson Foundation WNY Chapter. No-cost admission tickets are required, which are available at the Museum of disABILITY History and Danceability.
