From the Ranch House

A Note From Ashley
As today marks the end of my third week on the job, I wanted to offer a note of thanks for the warm welcome. I am thrilled to be a part of this team and I have been impressed by the graciousness of the RVR community as a whole. Thank you to the Executive Board, the Ranch House team and to the home owners for all of your support! I want to offer a special thanks to the amazing leadership team here at RVR who continue to embrace change with the end goal of improving our offerings.
As you are aware, we will be closing the Ranch House next week for repair and maintenance. This period also gives our team the opportunity to train and prepare for our upcoming launch of Club Automation, which will streamline operations and communications here at the Ranch House. I would like to thank both Ali Royer and James Maguire for all of their hard work and proactive preparations surrounding this major initiative. We will also be busy cleaning and organizing during this time. Our maintenance team, led by Travis Green, will be hard at work painting/staining and performing preventative maintenance to ensure that things continue to run smoothly throughout 2022! Our spring/summer season will be here before we know it and we are already focused on future planning to make the upcoming summer season the best ever!
If you have not stopped by to see me, I encourage you to do so.  My door is always open and I welcome your perspectives.  I look forward to getting to know you all and I consider it a privilege to lead this team and to serve the River Valley Ranch Community!
Ashley
Reminder: Ranch House Closure Begins Monday, Feb. 7
The Ranch House will be closed on Monday, Feb. 7 through Sunday, Feb. 13. This closure will allow for necessary repairs and maintenance. Our Front desk staff will also be training for our new club software during the closure. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this closure.
Locker Maintenance
During the Ranch House closure we will be re-staining all lockers. We ask that members please remove all personal items from lockers before Saturday, Feb. 5.
Please see the front desk if you currently have a locker rental.
New Club Software Coming Soon!
The Ranch House staff has been working behind the scenes on a very exciting project for several weeks now. We are happy to announce the launch of new club management software, Club Automation, on Tuesday, Feb. 15.
Club Automation will manage all Ranch House programming, including fitness, tennis, lap lanes, and even social events! Our new software is user friendly, streamlined and equipped with a multifaceted communication center we know you will love. Club Automation also comes with a mobile app and features an online member portal that will give our members a more interactive and customized experience.
It's our goal to make the transition to Club Automation as seamless as possible. We will host tutorial sessions at the Ranch House the week we go live. A Club Automation representative or RVR staff member will be available to assist and answer any questions. We will also provide a how-to guide on creating new log in credentials, club reservations, and updating payment information. Your HOA payment methods will remain in place.
We will provide tutorial session dates and times in next week's newsletters.
Furry Friend of The Week
My name is Sophie, AKA Flying Furball of Terror and the reason we can’t have nice things.
My parents are Carl and Tricia. I love tortilla chips, treats, and anything unhealthy for me. I will do anything for treats. I’ve learned to jump on command and sit up. My goal is to beat Border Collies at the next agility competition. I love to scare my parents by running up the stairs at breakneck speeds and leaping onto railings that are 20 ft. off the ground. Oh yeah, there was that time I miscalculated, but hey, I’m a cat; I landed on my feet. I run around with a ball in my mouth when I want to play, meowing. But mostly, I’m a good girl, love to cuddle, and am the sweetest of all cats.
We would like to thank Carl Hostetter and Trisha Hohl for sharing Sophie with us for our featured Furry Friend of the Week! If you would like your furry friend to be featured, please submit a picture and short bio to csm@rvrcommunity.com.

Reminders & Highlights

Speeding in RVR
Last summer, the Board authorized the purchase of a radar device to collect data on vehicle speeds within the community to determine how fast, and where people were speeding.
This data collection is the first step in getting our arms around the speeding issue. We will continue to gather numbers from our radar device and engage in assistance from Carbondale PD with our findings.
We have seen a trend of increased violations on Saturdays and Sundays. The posted speed limit throughout RVR is 20 mph. Please adhere to this signage and the law and do not exceed 20 mph at any time while driving in RVR. Should you have visitors on the weekend, please remind them to drive cautiously while traveling through the neighborhood.
Green Tip
Are you interested in RVR becoming a more sustainable, healthier, and environmentally conscious neighborhood? So are we! In our era of climate change, drought, wildfires, and emission reduction goals, we all have great ideas on ways to improve our community. We will highlight a green tip of the week periodically in the newsletter to help bring this topic to the forefront.
Please enjoy the following eco-friendly tidbit:
Did you know the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) has stated that leaving the water running while brushing your teeth wastes an average of four gallons each time? In a four-person household, where each person brushes twice each day, that’s 32 gallons of water wasted. Let's all do our part to reduce water usage and "turn off the tap" when brushing!
This post was brought to you by Friends of the Environment, a group of like-minded RVR residents who love the environment. If you would like to join their list, email courtney.eaton@icloud.com.
