We Want Your Advice! Help Us Welcome Incoming Grad Students
As we get ready to welcome the next cohort of graduate students to UT, we are putting together a short orientation video to help new grad students hit the ground running, and we would love your help!
From the best places to study, eat and explore in Austin, to navigating housing, budgeting and making the most of your time here, share your tips for a successful time at UT. Think of it as a letter to your first-year self, but on camera.
There are two ways to get involved:

Open Source Program Office Symposium, Incubator, and User Meeting September 23—24, Student travel stipends applications due July 6, 2026
Graduate students are invited to participate in the first OSPOSIUM, a UT System-wide meeting to bring together researchers and students for talks, panels, and networking, along with a half day student-focused “Open to Work” workshop.
The Lego Foundation Fellowship Apply by July 31
The LEGO Foundation invites applications for a global research fellowship for early and mid-career researchers whose work can strengthen understanding of how children thrive across diverse contexts. The fellowship provides flexible support over a three-year period for researchers pursuing ambitious, rigorous and practically relevant work.
Rowland Fellowship program at Harvard University Apply by August 1
The Rowland Fellows program is open to early-career researchers from a wide range of experimental fields, including physics, chemistry, biology, engineering and neuroscience.
