VEGAN RECIPE OF THE WEEK!

Chocolate for Breakfast Smoothie

recipe courtesy of suzievhomemaker.com
serves 1

Ingredients
1 1/4 cup non-dairy milk
1 Tbsp nut butter
1 Tbsp maple syrup or agave nectar
1/2 cup rolled oats
2 Tbsp cocoa powder
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 banana
ice cubes (if desired)

Instructions
The night before, add all ingredients (except banana and ice cubes) to the bowl of your blender and give it a stir to ensure that everything is well combined. Cover and place in fridge for at least 3 hours, preferably overnight. This step isn't necessary if you have a high-powered blender such as a Blendtec or Vitamix, but it will make for a nice smooth consistency, and it's almost ready as soon as you wake up!

When ready to eat, add the banana and a few ice cubes if you like it really cold, then blend on high until oats are fully broken down and a smooth and creamy consistency is reached.
