Ask the NET Expert, April 2022
Featuring Aman Chauhan, MD
Ask the NET Expert, CCF’s new website-based program, continues with Aman Chauhan, MD, as the featured expert answering questions from the neuroendocrine tumor community during April 2022. A medical oncologist, Dr. Chauhan is Director of NET Theranostics at UK Markey Cancer Center in Kentucky. His clinical interests focus on the full spectrum of neuroendocrine cancers, including carcinoid tumors, high-grade neuroendocrine carcinomas and small cell lung cancer. As Markey’s Director of NET Theranostics, Dr. Chauhan identifies NET patients who qualify for Lutathera® (Lutetium 177 DOTATATE) treatments for gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs). Dr. Chauhan is also co-director of the multidisciplinary Pediatric Neuroendocrine Tumor Clinical and Research Program at the Kentucky Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Aman Chauhan - Ask the Experts
Launched in February 2022, the Ask the NET Expert program gives NET patients and loved ones, as well as people seeking a diagnosis, the unique opportunity to get the expertise of doctors from around the country in all areas of medicine including medical oncology, surgical oncology, endocrinology, radiology, nuclear medicine, gastroenterology, and more via CCF’s website. Each month a different NET expert will answer your questions.

Non-case-specific questions can be submitted via the Submit Your Question form located here, AskTheNETExpertSubmitYourQuestion.

Questions should be general in nature as the physicians cannot answer case-specific questions. Questions can be on any NET-related subject including, but not limited to, diagnosis, biomarkers, pathology reports, clinical trials, and treatments.

We hope to be able to answer every question received but this may not be possible.

We post the questions and responses on our website, but please know your name will not be published.

Dr. Chauhan completed a Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program (CTEP) physician externship at the National Cancer institute (NCI) that focused on designing clinical trials and clinical research projects. He was selected to join NET Connect, an international organization that brings NET experts together and includes strategic support from a steering committee of established leaders in the field. Dr. Chauhan is principal investigator on multiple investigator initiated clinical trials including NCI sponsored multi-center Phase I studies.

He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology as well as the American Association of Cancer Research and the North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society.
