| LaForce Appointed to Census Scientific Advisory Committee |
Salimah LaForce, a senior research scientist in the Center for Advanced Communications Policy, has been appointed as one of five members of the Census Scientific Advisory Committee for the U.S. Census Bureau. Each member of the committee serves a three-year term advising on ways to improve censuses, surveys, operations, and programs.

| Bozeman Among Winners of Seed Grant Challenge for Climate Solutions |
Joe F. Bozeman III, an assistant professor in the School of Public Policy and the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, was one of nine early-career professors selected to pursue cutting-edge climate mitigation research as part of the Seed Grant Challenge for Climate Solutions. Bozeman's project team will research "A Workforce and Community-Engaged Team Building Approach for Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling in the U.S. Southeast."

| High School Students Dive Into Filmmaking in New 'Cinemagination' Camp |
This summer, Atlanta high school students learned the basics of filmmaking from John Thornton (Literature, Media, and Communication), an award-winning documentary filmmaker. Thornton partnered with CEISMC at Georgia Tech to offer the 'Cinemagination' Film Camp.

Dina Khapaeva (Modern Languages) delivered a keynote lecture titled "Putinism and Memory Politics" for the Euroculture Intensive Program "Dissonant Heritage and European Citizenship" at the University of Strasbourg in July.

“Discovery Beyond the Collective Myths of Academic Entrepreneurship: Conceptualizing Entrepreneurial Identity Legitimation Within an Emerging Institutional Context,” a paper by Christopher Hayter (Public Policy) was selected as one of the top 40 papers at the Babson College Entrepreneurship Research Conference.

Ph.D. candidates Elizaveta Gonchar, Ian Helfrich, and Ioanna Spyrou (Economics) successfully defended their dissertations. Gonchar's dissertation was titled "Spatial Dimensions of Economic Modeling: Interdisciplinary Approaches to Labor, Trade, and Networks." Helfrich defended "The Economic Geometry of Trade: Synthesizing Networks, Geospatial Analytics, and Optimal Transport," and Spyrou defended “Essays on the Economics of Climate Shocks, Food Security, and Sustainable Agriculture."
