Favorite class while at Brebeuf Jesuit? Painting in Mr. Cancilla’s class was my absolute favorite!
Favorite teacher/coach? Mrs. Mary Ann Wallace, known affectionately as Maw.
What was inspiring about him/her?
Maw was an incredible mentor to me during my time at Brebeuf. During my time as a Kairos leader, she believed in me and helped me courageously step out of my comfort zone. I’m grateful to have learned so much from her.
What are you doing now?
Today, I am a published author, licensed clinical social worker, and the owner of The Essence of Healing LLC and Gmichelle Wellness. The focus of my work is to offer busy, caring, and exhausted people the opportunity to recover from burnout and make self-care a practical part of their lives. Outside of work, I’m a mom to the coolest two-year-old ever, I love taking foodie adventures and absolutely adore trips to our local bookstores. :)
How did Brebeuf Jesuit help shape you into the person you are today?
Brebeuf Jesuit inspired and truly taught me what it means to be a woman in service of others. Brebeuf was a special space for me to learn, grow and discover what I needed to do to make a difference and help the communities that I am a part of and need care. I’m a proud alumnus and feel honored to call myself a Brave!
