|
Tracey Gremillion received the COBA Staff of the Year Award at the college of business faculty meeting on October 5. She is assistant to the director of the UNO Institute for Economic Development & Real Estate Research.

| COBA Faculty Member of the Year
|
Dr. Hamed Ghahremani, assistant professor of management, won the COBA Faculty of the Year Award. He received his MBA from Sharif University of Technology and his Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management from the University at Buffalo (SUNY).

LCMC announced its Health Minority Administrative Fellows for 2024. Four students from Louisiana were chosen to be fellows, three of which are UNO graduates, and two of whom are from the College of Business Administration.

GNOu Summit held their Workforce and Training Pipeline Conference on September 20, where they showcased industry partners from advanced manufacturing, logistics, wind energy, technology, maritime and more.

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. hosted a Spotlight the Employer luncheon on September 26. Gallagher provides insurance and other financial services and has an internship program set to begin soon. Interviews will begin in November.

Kimberly Cook-Nelson, who received her MBA in 1999 from UNO, was named Executive Vice President of Nuclear Operations and Chief Nuclear Officer of Entergy in November 2022.

Alumnus Jerry Reyes '16 was recently promoted to Area Vice President of Operations with Highgate, the industry-leading hospitality management and development firm. He was also featured in the 2023 Biz 500 List.

| Alumnus Juan Pablo Madrid '16 was recently hired as a Visual Information Specialist at the Congressional Research Service at the Library of Congress. In addition, he recently announced his engagement to fellow UNO graduate Olivia Boissy '17.

Established in 1990, Jazz at the Sandbar pairs seasoned professional musicians with UNO jazz students on the bandstand in from of a live audience. It provides a rare opportunity to see and hear world-class artists in an intimate setting and see the next generation of jazz musicians.
