Sunday, August 23: Choir Christmas Music Reveal

Third Annual Adult VBS Wednesday, August 12
The world has grown smaller. People of different cultures, traditions, and faiths are no longer distant strangers. They are our neighbors, coworkers, classmates, and friends. As followers of Christ, how do we remain deeply rooted in our own faith while learning to live with wisdom, grace, and love alongside people whose beliefs differ from our own?
Join us for our Third Annual Adult Vacation Bible School hosted by St. Luke UMC as we explore what faithful Christian living looks like in a beautifully diverse world. The day will include engaging conversation, special music, creative activities, good food, and a few surprises sure to bring laughter and joy.

About Our Speaker
The Rev. Andy Andrews is an Episcopal priest, Delta native, and gifted bridge-builder. He has served congregations across Louisiana, Tennessee, and Mississippi, and most recently led the Diocese of Mississippi's Beloved Community initiative, bringing people and churches together for conversations and work toward racial reconciliation.
Andy now serves as the Interfaith Organizer for the International Museum of Muslim Cultures AND clergy leader at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Jackson.
Drawing on that experience, Andy - along with friends from the museum - will introduce us to the story of Mississippi's Muslim community, offer practical insights into living faithfully in a religiously diverse society, and invite us into the kind of neighborly relationships that help communities flourish.
Andy combines deep wisdom with warmth, humor, and genuine compassion. We think you'll leave both encouraged and inspired.

We will meet at Parkway Hills UMC at 9:15 to carpool to St. Luke. Event is from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm with lunch included.  St. Luke has their own registration but we ask that you register through Parkway Hills so we can handle payment and transportation for our group. Cost is $10.
Click here or call the church office by Saturday, August 1.
Join us in prayer for Anne Marie, Cortez, and Tezzi as they prepare to welcome a new baby girl. Anne Marie’s maternity leave will begin Sunday, August 23 with her expected return Sunday, October 18.

The youth will host a Diaper Shower Sunday, August 9 at 5:30 pm during Sunday Night Youth. Feel free to join them or drop off diapers or wipes in the church office.

Change of plans!
The Youth are going to Sky Zone and dinner on Sunday from 5-7 PM.
- Meet at Sky Zone in Ridgeland @5:00, carpool to Newks on Lake Harbour Dr. @6:00.
- Tickets are free for youth (invite friends!); bring money for dinner.
*Let us know HERE if you plan on coming! Youth can show up at Sky Zone, but it helps to know numbers.
(*The change is due to ticket availability. We want youth to be able to invite friends and attend last minute if needed for this kick-off into the new school year.)

Youth Sunday: Sunday, August 9
Don't forget about Youth Sunday, just around the corner! The Youth Ministry gets to be fully involved in the planning and leading of Sunday worship on the 9th.
If you are or have a youth, join us that morning, first at 9:30 for Sunday School, then at 10:45 to be a part of leading the worship service.
There are many ways to be involved: leading prayers, reading liturgy, reading scripture, giving the children's moment, singing/playing an instrument, and more! We are never too young to use our talents and gifts to serve God and one another.
