National Institutes of Health (NIH) Grant & Controlled Trial
The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Public Health was recently awarded a five-year research project grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for a randomized controlled trial for the CATCH My Breath middle school curriculum. The grant was authored by Dr. Steven Kelder, associate regional dean of the UTHealth School of Public Health Austin and original co-creator of CATCH My Breath. Dr. Kelder stated "This is a huge win not only for CATCH My Breath, but also the thousands of youth that the e-cigarette companies continue to target as a consumer base."
CATCH Global Foundation will partner with UTHealth on a portion of the grant and will continue to expand and disseminate the CATCH My Breath program to schools around the country.
