Featured commencement speakers included Radha Muthiah, president and CEO of the Capital Area Food Bank, Elhadj As Sy of UNICEF, Colman Domingo, Academy Award nominated actor, writer, director, and producer, Almar Latour, publisher of the Wall Street Journal and CEO of Dow Jones, and Gloria Allred, founding partner of Allred, Maroko & Goldberg.

Neighbors are invited to join our quarterly CLC meetings, hosted to maintain regular communication between the university and its extended community.
This free event is open to the public and serves as a forum to keep our neighborhood stakeholders informed on everything from transportation and parking, construction updates, student-neighbor relations, and more.

| Transit Alert - DCPS High School Graduation
Ceremonies at Bender Arena
|
On Thursday, June 12 and Friday, June 13, AU will host multiple graduation ceremonies at Bender Arena for DCPS high schools. Please be prepared for increased foot traffic and vehicle congestion on and around campus during those days.
In accordance with DC regulations and the university’s “Good Neighbor Policy,” all guests, students, faculty, and staff driving to campus for events like this are required to park in a designated parking garage with the appropriate parking pass. Parking is prohibited on all neighborhood streets while visiting any university property.

Army Corps of Engineers Work Starting Soon
|
In advance of upcoming utility work on campus near the former Public Safety Building site, the Army Corps of Engineers will be drilling test holes to ensure the work can be completed safely without disturbing any potential buried debris. Pending permit approval, the drilling will take place in mid to late June over a one- to two-week period. No excessive noise or road closures off campus are expected. Fresh off of a Patriot League Championship and AU's first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2014, AU Men's Basketball is welcoming kids ages 5-15 to the inaugural Duane Simpkins Basketball Camp!
Sign your kid(s) up for 4 days of fun at Bender Arena, where they'll enjoy individualized instruction, guest speakers, competitions, and tournament-style games. Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt and other special giveaways. Camp is open to all skill levels but space is limited, so sign up today!

Be among the first to catch a glimpse of our new summer shows and join us for a reception at Katzen.
New exhibits explore the nostalgia of memory and place, Korean contemporary art created by local artists, combat photojournalism during the Vietnam War, and what it means to be a teenager in America today. Featured exhibits include David A. Douglas's Intersections presented by the Alper Initiative for Washington Art.
