Hi Friends,

God is moving in Haiti. We invite you to read Djana’s story. It reminds us why this mission matters—introducing young people to Jesus changes lives.  Through camp, discipleship, and community, kids not only hear the gospel but experience God’s transforming power. Lives are healed and hope is found. 

I’m Djana from Aquin. I met Christ through Young Life, joined a discipleship group, and became a leader.

I took kids to camp in August and was proud to share how God has worked in my life. But in October, I fell ill and couldn’t breathe normally. 

The following day, my family took me to the hospital because they were so scared. I had an inhaler for my asthma and was given medicine, but nothing was working. It was then that I remembered a prayer group chat I had been added to after camp. I searched for my leader, Mimi’s number in the group, and asked for prayer. She asked me, “Do you believe God is for you?” I told her yes, and she encouraged me that if I believe in His goodness, I will see him move in my life.

My sickness persisted. I noticed Mimi had tried to call me so I joined the prayer group and heard Mimi praying for me, battling for my life, and asking God to restore my health. 

I continued to be sick, ridding my body of the asthma, as Mimi had prayed for. Deep inside, I knew—I believed—that God was healing me.

Since then, I've not needed my inhaler. The illness that had once required daily medication was gone. My inhaler sat untouched—I never needed it again. I’ve gone about my life, even visiting places I once avoided due to my condition. Yet, my health remains strong. I haven’t spent a single penny on treatment because Jesus healed me for free.

I am so grateful to Jesus, and I thank Mimi, who knocked on heaven’s door for me in my time of need. I now share my testimony of God's power and faithfulness.
