The Carcinoid Cancer Foundation is excited to announce a new program for the neuroendocrine tumor (NET) community – Ask the NET Expert. Each month, we will feature a different physician who specializes in neuroendocrine cancer. This web-based program will give you the unique opportunity to get the expertise of doctors from around the country in all areas of medicine including medical oncology, surgical oncology, endocrinology, radiology, nuclear medicine, gastroenterology, and more via CCF's website.
You can submit questions for the physician using the Contact form on our website, www.carcinoid.org/contact/. In the Subject line, please write Ask the NET Expert. Questions should be general in nature as the physicians cannot answer case-specific questions.
Questions can be on any NET-related subject including, but not limited to, diagnosis, biomarkers, pathology reports, clinical trials, and treatments. We hope to be able to answer every question received but this may not be possible.
We will post the questions and responses on our website, but please know your name will not be published.
Our first featured NET expert in February 2022 is Satya (Nanu) Das, MD, MSCI, medical oncology and hematology, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Das is the lead of the NET program at VICC and is the medical oncology lead for the peptide receptor radionuclide therapy program. His research interests center on gastrointestinal cancer, with a focus on NETs and drug development. He is the principal investigator of several clinical trials in NETs.
