New York State Ocean Action Plan (OAP) Survey |
The New York State DEC and Department of State co-led the development and implementation of the New York State Ocean Action Plan (OAP). The OAP was initially developed as a 10-year plan (2017 – 2027), following extensive input from a variety of ocean users and interest groups and informed by the best available science. As we approach the conclusion of the first planning cycle, the State is launching a new planning process to assess progress to date and identify future actions and priorities to inform the next 10-year planning horizon. Please complete the survey to help us assess the OAP Actions and provide direction on the next OAP’s funding, research, management, and outreach efforts.

2026-2027 Faculty Call for Proposals for the SUNY AI Platform Research Awards |
This Call for Proposals invites researchers to submit a proposal for innovative research projects that leverage the SUNY AI Platform, a secure, enterprise-grade AI environment powered by Google Cloud. The goal of this initiative is to accelerate research and innovation across all disciplines by providing access to cutting-edge AI tools, infrastructure, and expert support.

Research Administration Immersion for Skill-building and Experience (RAISE): A career preparation program in research administration |
Call for Applications: Building Strong Partnerships for Early Career Faculty |
The Office of Proposal Development is accepting applications for a 2-day Workshop, facilitated by Saath Partners, on Building Strong Partnerships for Early Career Faculty. The objective of this in-person workshop, to be held on September 24 and 25, 2026, is to strengthen the ability of early-career faculty to develop, manage, and grow effective partnerships. The workshop will provide participants with practical concepts, tools, and peer-learning opportunities. Through facilitated group discussions and applied exercises, faculty will have the opportunity to use these concepts and tools to further pursue their own partnership ideas.
Deadline has been extended: Space is limited. Applications must be submitted by Monday, August 3, 2026 at 9 am, via the application portal

NIH Request for Information: Proposal to Cap the Number of Simultaneous Research Project Grants per Principal Investigator to Support More Researchers and Maximize Scientific Productivity and Innovation |
The NIH has issued a Request for Information (RFI) on a proposal to cap the number of simultaneous research project grants per PI. This sponsor is seeking input on the outline for this proposed policy, and is specifically interested in input regarding: the pros and/or cons of the policy; the optimal number of RPGs for the cap (2, 3 or 4); the strengths and weaknesses of the proposed implementation strategies; and the possible unintended consequences or policy loopholes.
Deadline for submitting an individual response to NIH: Anyone who is interested in responding directly to NIH as an individual may do so by submitting comments electronically to the NIH RFI webpage by August 3, 2026 at 11:59 pm ET.

NSF Agency Information Collection Activities: Comment Request; National Science Foundation Proposal/Award Information-NSF Guidance on Financial Assistance (Updating the PAPPG) |
The NSF has issued a Comment Request on a proposal to update NSF policies through the development of the U.S. NSF Proposal and Award Policies and Procedures Guide (PAPPG), now to be renamed the NSF Guidance on Financial Assistance (GFA). The GFA would formalize some of the Office of Management and Budget's proposed changes to Uniform Guidance, including the ability of the agency to terminate or suspend grants at will and disallow previously allowable publication costs. The GFA is also structured entirely differently from the existing PAPPG; Read the GFA PDF.
NSF is seeking input on (a) whether the proposed collection of information is necessary for the proper performance of the functions of the Agency, including whether the information shall have practical utility; (b) the accuracy of the Agency's estimate of the burden of the proposed collection of information; (c) ways to enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of the information on respondents, including through the use of automated collection techniques or other forms of information technology; and (d) ways to minimize the burden of the collection of information on those who are to respond including through the use of appropriate automated, electronic, mechanical, or other technological collection techniques or other forms of information technology; and (e) feedback on the new design and display of information for users.
Deadline for submitting an individual response to NSF: Anyone who is interested in responding directly to NSF as an individual may do so by submitting comments electronically on the government's regulations webpage by August 24, 2026. Individuals submitting responses should not submit on behalf of the institution.

Description: The Collaborative Research program aims to advance knowledge in the humanities by supporting teams of scholars working on a project leading to an interpretive product. Applications must focus on the history and culture of American History or Western civilization.
Institutional Limit: No limit
PI Eligibility: The project director may not be enrolled in a degree-granting program. An individual may not serve as project director or codirector on more than one application to the program per competition.
Award: Planning International Collaboration: Up to $50,000 for 6 to 12 months. Manuscript Preparation: Up to $250,000 for 1 to 3 years. Scholarly Digital Project: Up to $250,000 for 1 to 3 years.
