We cannot (and did not) cover every scenario, and context matters, too. However, please know, the University is committed to enforcing its policies. In order to be thorough in following our processes, action may not always be instant. In line with student privacy laws, NYU will not share the outcome of disciplinary proceedings. However, the University will carefully consider each report and take action fairly, impartially, and appropriately.
Our disciplinary process is primarily a report-driven process. Anyone who believes there has been a violation of the University’s rules may make a report; please share as much detail as possible. The
Bias Response Line remains available to receive reports and channel them to the appropriate investigatory offices; the University is also setting up in-person and virtual opportunities to make reports within the next week. Please note that the BRL is not an emergency hotline or service. In case of emergency, please contact the NYPD at 911, NYU Campus Safety at +1-212-998-2222, or Wellness at +1-212-443-9999, as appropriate.
Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring the University is a safe place for all in our community to live and learn.
