When the Grove is showing off 🌸

What if I’m an out-of-state student? You can still get it here.
But I’ve already had COVID, I don’t need it. The natural immunity you get after recovering from COVID may not last forever, and being vaccinated can prevent you from spreading it even if you’re not infected.
What about the second dose?
- Your first and second doses should be the same type of vaccine and received at the same vaccination site.
- The second Moderna dose should be taken at least 28 days after your first dose, and Pfizer, at least 21 days. The semester ends in 36 days, and finals end seven days after that.
- Go ahead and schedule your first appointment now so you can get the second dose before you leave town. You’ll only need one shot if you get the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
- Some people feel tired for a day or so after the shot, which is normal and doesn’t mean you’re getting sick, so you may want to schedule your shot(s) on your less intense days.

Getting outside around Oxford

Now that the longest winter ever is ending, let’s get some fresh air! Did you know that 30 minutes of direct sunlight during the day can dramatically increase your quality of sleep? And if that 30 minutes outside is spent being physically active, you’ll get a mood boost, more focus and less brain fog. The more you know. 🌈 Here are some easy, nearby places to have fun outside.

- The South Campus Rail Trails are shaded and perfect for running, walking or biking.
- For a different outdoor workout, The Fit Rig, located by the IM fields, is outfitted with balance beams, adjustable bars, plyometric platforms and more.
- Lamar Park is a great spot for a dog-friendly walk around the pond or a picnic in the grass.
- Watch airplanes take off and land at the pull-off spot off of north Molly Barr Road, before Highland Square.
- And if you’re really adventurous, Ole Miss Outdoors has you covered for outdoor adventure trips and gear rental.
