Chris Monsere named Vice Provost for Faculty Success |
Christopher M. Monsere has been appointed as the Vice Provost for Faculty Success. Monsere, a tenured professor in civil and environmental engineering who has been serving in this role on an interim basis since Fall 2023, stood out among a field of outstanding colleagues with his experience as both a distinguished faculty member and skilled administrator, including roles as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (2021-2023), Department Chair (2014-2021) and recent leadership of PSU’s collective bargaining with academic unions. In this position, he will oversee academic personnel policies, the promotion and tenure process, faculty development initiatives and labor relations.

On the President's Blog: Charting a path for socially responsible investments at PSU |
President Ann Cudd has shared her reflections on the final report from the Committee on Socially Responsible Investments & Partnerships. Formed in response to student activism and announced in May 2024, the committee reviewed PSU’s practices around investments and partnerships and studied models from other institutions. The President has endorsed the creation of a standing committee to carry this work forward and guide future decisions.

You are invited to the Community Resource Fair on Wednesday, April 16 from 11 am to 1:30 pm, located on the 4th floor skybridge between SMSU and Cramer Hall. This event is hosted by the Basic Needs Hub, WRC, QRC, DREAMer Center, and Services for Students with Children. Students can enjoy lunch while connecting with human service programs, immigration services and social resources designed to help them build self-advocacy skills and access support beyond PSU. Kayak in a pool? Yes, at Campus Rec!
|
Kayak pool sessions are a chance for kayakers of all experience levels to work on skills and have fun in the safety of the pool. If you're a beginner, this is a great way to get comfortable in a boat, learn basic strokes, and start working towards more advanced skills. Intermediate or advanced paddlers can master their roll, play with different types of boats, and get ready for the paddling season ahead. Join us on Tuesdays from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm in the Campus Rec pool for an exciting time kayaking! Non-members can attend without member sponsorship and must register at Member Services, or on our member portal for $10 per session. Personal and clean boats are welcome.
