Welcome     Grow     Serve    Celebrate

We will continue to monitor the weather so we can make the best decision about Sunday morning and evening activities.  We will use email and social media to notify you when and if we need to cancel. No matter our decision, if you do not feel safe or comfortable getting out, please stay home. We encourage you to get prepared and please let us know if we can assist you in any way.
Change of plans! Tonight Cancelled.
Due to some unforseen circumstances, we will have to delay the start of our Wednesday night activities.  Tonight (1/21) is cancelled and we will begin next week, Wednesday, January 28.

Coffee with the Pastor Postponed!
Due to weather we are postponing our Coffee with the Pastor until next Sunday, February 1. If you have been visiting and want to learn a little bit more about Parkway Hills, if you have been attending a while and want to find out how to become a full member, or if you just want to get to know Pastor Dawn better, we hope to see you February 1 at 9:30 am in the parlor.
Saturday, January 17, a small group gathered for prayer, conversation, dreaming, and discernment for Parkway Hills. Couldn't make it Saturday? Don't worry, we will do a brief recap, and leave room for conversation at 6:20 pm following our Wednesday evening meal February 4.

We began with fellowship and prayer, reviewed our Leadership Board model and our new members, and did a brief review of our end of year financials and our 2026 budget. We celebrated that as 2025 closed out, we were able to return to our reserves the $50,000.00 previously used for tree removal and cleanup. With this addition, we currently have a little more than 5 months worth of expenses in our reserves. Our Leadership Board set a goal a few years ago to get to 6 months worth of expenses in reserves and strive not to fall below 3 months. Your giving enables us to live into this goal! To request a copy of our end of year Financial Statements and/or receive the 2026 Budget, email Joe Williams.

The bulk of our time was spent reflecting on these questions:
What am I looking for in church?
What have I found at Parkway Hills?
What would I like to see at Parkway Hills?
Is there something missing or that is not working?

Finally, while we celebrated income to replenish reserves, we also looked ahead to 2026 and some needed building repair work around the steeples of both buildings, the projected porte-cochere addition, and the hope to add some additional funds to our Capital Reserves (currently at $6,327.91). We will have more sharing and conversation around these needs as the year progresses so stay tuned!

As always, we thank you for your commitment to the mission and ministry of Parkway Hills. We do best the things we do together.

It takes all of us working together to accomplish all of the great ministries at Parkway Hills.  We give thanks for all the ways this church supports our youth and encourages and equips our young people.  As a new year begins, we encourage you to find a way to get to know our youth. One easy way is to provide one of our Sunday night meals (the last Sunday of every month is our pizza night) or sign up to be an adult volunteer, or both! In order to provide a safe, welcoming space for our youth and adult volunteers, we must have at least two adults, not residing in the same household, present for every event.  Click the link and see if a date works for you.
Wednesday Nights January 28 - March 4 our kids will learn all about the season of Lent. We hope to see you there as our children engage with the Christian year and learn more about the story of which they are a part. Reminder: Meal at 5:45 pm followed by activites at 6:20.
We always need volunteers to aid with our kids' ministry. For more information about any of our kids' ministry events contact Jennifer.
*All volunteers must submit a background check before volunteering with children and youth.

Dear Church Family,
I want to thank you all for the Christmas gift of money this year. It is always a special surprise!
The money will go to doing a little work on my vintage VW Bug, and I appreciate it!
Thank you for your thoughtfulness. It is a nice thing, but really I love playing, so I hope others can enjoy it, too.

In English, the phrase Becas con Bendiciones means “Scholarships with Blessings.” Our January Communion gifts will supply scholarships that provide the opportunity for education for children in Honduras.Though public school in Honduras is technically "free" to attend, there are uniform requirements, shoes, sports clothing for P.E. classes, matriculation fees, maintenance fees, and basic school supplies which put formal education out of the reach of many children. In January 2006 PHUMC's Wednesday night children's program studied United Methodist missions in Honduras, learning a little Spanish, sampling some Honduran foods, and discovering that kids in Honduras got only four or five years of schooling because their parents couldn't afford to pay for uniforms, school supplies, and fees. So our kids jumped in to help. They began collecting change at home and at church, made announcements to the congregation, decorated collection boxes for Wednesday night supper tables, and quickly raised $300 for "Scholarships with Blessings" to help kids in Honduras stay in school longer. Since that beginning in 2006, Parkway Hills has sponsored dozens of Honduran children. We receive thank-you letters and pictures from our sponsored kids every year, which you can view in the foyer of the worship center. They are so grateful for our support! Last year we provided 18 scholarships. A gift of $120 provides 100% of the school-related needs for a child in this program. Thank you for giving generously.
