Starting in the new year, Academic Affairs invites nominations for the 2025 Faculty and Staff Excellence Awards. These awards celebrate the exceptional scholarship, dedication and achievements of PSU’s faculty and staff who inspire excellence across campus.

Reminder: Winter Term Staff Fee forms due Jan. 4 |
PSU employees who are planning to use the tuition discount for the 2025 Winter Term must upload their completed Staff Fee Forms to the Human Resources uploader by Jan. 4, 2025 — two days before the term begins. Deadlines for other Oregon universities may differ, so check their websites for details.

Between now and Thursday, Dec. 5, you can donate clean, gently used winter clothing of all sizes to any of these resource centers:

This Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 3 p.m., the Associated Students of Portland State (ASPSU) and Global Diversity and Inclusion (GDI) are hosting a Nonresident Student Speed Meet, a lively, speed-friending event designed specifically for out-of-state, international and undocumented students. Location: Smith Memorial Student Union (SMSU) 327.

It’s time for the faculty/staff dodgeball tournament! |
Congrats PSU faculty and staff, you made it through fall term! Let's celebrate with a game of dodgeball this Thursday, Dec. 5 from 4 - 6 p.m. at Campus Rec. Eight teams of five players will compete in the tournament. Each team will play a warm-up game before we start the single-elimination tournament. Free and open to all PSU faculty/staff. No Campus Rec membership required. Register by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4.

Join the Teddy Bear Toss at PSU men’s basketball game |
Get ready for a heartwarming tradition! Portland State Athletics will host the third annual Teddy Bear Toss during halftime of the Men's Basketball game vs. Denver University on Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. at Viking Pavilion.
How to Participate

- Bring a new teddy bear or stuffed animal to the game.

Toss it onto the court at halftime to support the Fox 12 Les Schwab Tire Centers Toy Drive.

All donations will bring joy to local children this holiday season. Each year, the toss has delivered more than 500 stuffed animals to the Toy Drive. Let’s keep the tradition going!

Winter break outdoor gear rental special |
Celebrate winter with this amazing special! From Dec. 13 - Jan. 6, you can rent gear from the Outdoor Program for only twice the regular weekend rate. That’s 31 days of gear! Any additional days will be charged standard extra day fees. Pickup items at the Outdoor Program office located 505 SW Harrison Street.
