Dear SOE Community,
Today is a day to remember. Today there was accountability. Today we have moved in the direction of justice.
While justice may have been served in the trial of Derek Chauvin for the murder of George Floyd, we also acknowledge that Floyd’s tragic murder in 2020 was not an isolated case. Too many of our Black family members, friends, colleagues, and loved ones have been badly mistreated at the hands of law enforcement for far too long. The same is true for other communities of color.
LMU School of Education continues to stand strong in its core value of using education as a tool for equity and social justice. We remain committed to fighting for needed reforms in our educational and law enforcement systems, so that each and every person in our America has the opportunity to live in peace and safety and to reach their full potential.
Stay strong, SOE. You are the future. You are OUR future. Thank you for all you’re doing.
In solidarity,
