Greater Giving: Norm Verros |
| |
Working with his trusted professional advisor, Norm anticipated the tax consequences of personally selling his farm machinery and recapturing its depreciation. Instead, as part of his charitable planning, Norm strategically gifted the farm machinery to the Community Foundation for the benefit of a new donor advised fund. The Community Foundation sold the machinery and placed the proceeds into Norm’s new fund, where the causes he cared about would be supported.
