MEN APPLYING GRADUATE LEVEL CHRIST-LIKENESS |
How Glorious to Watch God’s Ways Work.
Here are a couple of examples, one from a student/disciplee and another from a wife of a CQI student:
“The Bible is my primary guide to the Christian life. Still, my study of the complete set of books, Discovering the Mind of a Woman and its study-guide, Discovering the Heart of a Man, Discovering the Narrow Gate and gaining entrance, Spiritual Seeds that Reap Christ-likeness Volumes I through VI have proven to be the most influential, captivating and transforming material I’ve encountered in my life.
“Through applying the principles therein, my life and my natural ways have been challenged and radically changed. As purposed by Christ Quest Ministries, I do indeed feel that their goal of affecting my thinking, my acting, and my speaking so as to completely reflect more Christ-likeness and therein align with God’s design, His purposes, and His plans.
“Of all the biblical and systematic theology, all the Christian study, the alleged discipleship, doctrine, books and devotionals I have studied in my life, nothing compares to the transformation and enlightenment gained from this book series.
“As eye opening and captivating as Discovering the Mind of a Women is, I consider this book series the icing on the cake, or probably more appropriate, the hammer and chisel needed to shape one into a man after God’s own heart, a present-day example of the Christ, my goal.”

Let me add along with that, there’s the natural results upon a wife’s spirit when a husband makes application of God’s ways, as exemplified in Ephesians 5:25 through 27 (AMP) and the testimony below. In those verses, God uses an analogy of Christ and His crucifixion to do an exposition on husbands and wives.
With Parenthesis I’ve emphasized the exposition. Here it is: “25 Husbands, love your wives [seek the highest good for her (your wife) and surround her (your wife) with a caring, unselfish love], just as Christ (the husband’s example) also loved the church (not the building, His bride, then to imitate Him, with your wife,) and gave Himself up for her (His bride, to be imitating Him with your wife), 26 , that He (God’s example for a husband) might sanctify the church (not the building, His bride, then to be imitating Him with your wife), having cleansed her (His Bride, as the Christ did, with your wife) by the washing of water with the word [of God], 27 so that [in turn] He (and husbands) might present the church (not the building, the Christians in it, your wives) to Himself in glorious splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she (your wife) would be holy [set apart for God] (like their husbands who are Christ-like themselves) and blameless.” (Parenthesis and emboldens mine.)

Dear Ken,
I was reading a book today and the author mentioned your book, Discovering the Mind of a Woman and made me think of you and Nancy. We were in a discipleship group with you over 20 years ago. It caused me to relive our testimony, so I thought I'd share that special time in our lives when we were in a discipleship relationship with you.
What a life changing, marriage saving, experience it was for us. We are still living out those principles we learned and experienced during that time.
For one thing, your teaching gave me a voice! We had come out of the discipleship teaching of the 70's concerning SUBMISSION! That became an ugly and difficult word for me. I knew submission was biblical, but not the way it was being taught. That teaching took my voice away.
By that time the only way for me seemed to be — out of the marriage. That so stunned my husband that he sought counsel. That helped, but as I learned, my spirit was not being cared for as it needed to be.
We had chosen to stay together and about a year later we were invited by some dear friends to become a part of a new discipleship group they were forming called Christ Quest Ministries. (*note: CQI now offers CQI Plus including men who meet bi-weekly called Fellow Warriors.)
At first, I was very cautious. I didn't need any more wounding in my spirit and just couldn't make myself become vulnerable again. As you taught and shared, my husband CAUGHT the vision. Because of his heart changes, I began to open up because it became safe to do so. Our whole marriage became new and refreshing. (Who does that say God has established as the spiritual leader and thereby in charge of, the condition of the marriage?)
I just wanted to say THANK YOU for your investment in our lives! I pray that this ministry continues to touch lives as it did ours.
Blessings to you and Nancy!

Nancy and I, along with our daughter Denise and her husband Tim, are so grateful as Tim and I are able to disciple men in our new Fellow Warriors groups.

Get Ready for a Surprise
Proverbs 18:22 (KJV) reads, “Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord.” (Underline is mine.)
My initial application 66 years ago was that I had found a good/great/excellent thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord.”
On Friday, September 13, 1959, Nancy and I were married and as I write this, I’m re-experiencing her walking down the aisle with a huge, overwhelming smile on my face in anticipation of her becoming Mrs. Ken Nair.

Talk about God’s FAVOR!
But as I’m writing this, reflecting back on my initial application, another question hits me. “THING”? She’s not a “THING”! I’ve got to investigate that word. I don’t care if it’s already commonly accepted. It doesn’t make sense to me. So, I start digging to find out if the word “thing” was proper?
So, let me begin here. Please remember, virtually, the first English Authorized New Testament was originally translated from the Greek New Testament and paid for by King James (an ecumenist known to be bi-sexual). The original Hebrew language was not at all referred to. Add to that, the Greek New Testament was translated into English (by men — scholars — Christians? There’s no evidentiary acknowledgment mentioned.) Neither did they utilize any copies of the Hebrew New Testament. On top of all that, it was completely influenced by normal-to-man thinking. Notably too, only recently have original Hebrew New Testament versions of the Gospels, James, Jude, and Revelations been found in Spain and in Cochin, India, in which mistakes have been found in the English versions.
Here’s the surprise! Notice that Proverbs 18:22 from The Interlinear Hebrew Greek English Bible — that there is no Hebrew word for the word “thing” in the Hebrew text. It actually reads, “He who finds a wife finds good, and gets favor from Jehovah.” The Hebrew word for “good” is

The following are the multiple English words that can be used to describe the word towb — found in Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance. Here’s what it says:
Towb is a primitive root word: to be, (do or make) good, to please, cheer, be (do) good, make goodly, please, (be, do,) well, beautiful, best, better, good deed, graciously, joyful, kindness, loving, merry, pleasant.
It saying, that’s what the good is a man gets when he gets a wife.
Then there’s Ancient Hebrew

Here’s more Surprise!
Notice too that there are multiple words for ancient Hebrew. Now I will paraphrase Proverbs 18:22 to read: He who finds a wife finds the good God has designed her to provide for him, which encloses and contains the kind of spiritual connection that helps bring stability within the home and that’s the favor that Jehovah bestows upon her husband.
That’s the blessings I’ve received, and so much more than mere words can express, during these few years that have passed. I truly am a blessed man.

Spirituality does not equal Godliness
There seems to be some confusion among Christians about the usage of the word “spirituality”. The word “spirituality” is too often identified with “godliness”. Even amongst Christians, they are correlated; however, they are not synonymous.
Let me start here: Is Satan a part of the spiritual realm? Yes, but he certainly is not godly!
Then, please recall that in the August 2024 the Upside Down Umbrella Newsletter covered the article wherein scientists took a picture in 2014 of what happens the very second the human sperm enters the human egg — a flash takes place around the egg as shown in the actual picture.
Scientists called it a zinc spark. They can call it whatever they want — but I know Who Light is. That Light is God (check out I John 1:5). That’s the proof that He’s placing a human spirit within that new being at conception. Take note, every person who’s alive is alive because God placed that spirit within them at conception — which became their human spirit.
|
Okay, so let’s now pursue differentiating between what the world considers to be spirituality and what a Christian needs to know about what genuine, godly spirituality is.
There are people who believe they are and are deemed to operate uniquely in the realm of spirituality because they’ve dedicated themselves to what they believe is communicating with the dead — the inscrutable occult.
Then there are various different congregations or cults, who practice various forms of ritualistic ceremonies, so they believe themselves to be functional spiritualists. This category would include Satan worshipers.
There are also people in the Christian community, who regularly attend and participate in their church’s practices? and believe that’s proof that they are dedicated to God; which also in their minds qualifies them as being spiritual. And all that means they’re participants in godliness. Some believe that their attendance or being a member of a particular branch of a church means they are also in tune with godliness.
That they are alive validates that they do indeed have a human spirit. However, Romans 3:11 (NKJV) tells us. “There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God.” That means every Christian’s human spirit must be discipled for Christ-likeness before it can achieve godliness. That’s going to involve being discipled to understand their human spirit as well as God’s Son, the Christ, does. Exemplified by Him while He was in the throes of death, Luke 23:46 (AMPC) shares, “And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit! And with these words, He expired.” He expired because His human spirit was separating from within Him.
I believe that Christian spirituality is only derived when a man, a husband, is as completely aware of his own human spirit as he is of his right thumb. Then, his physical being and his spirit are functioning in harmony with each other throughout his day.
Godliness is the product of a husband having been discipled to be biblically operational — growing in his awareness and application of God’s Word. Thereby, God, Who is Spirit, and the Holy Spirit are able to lead his human spirit — so that he’s becoming more and more godly as he daily functions — deciding how to respond in a godly way to life.
Again, all of that training is necessary because no man, no husband, is naturally inclined to be spiritually functional, nor to even be concerned about the ways of God. That’s what Romans 3:11 (NKJV) tells us. “There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God.”
The ability to discern the difference between those two words, spirituality and godliness, should be clearly understood by a man, a husband, who God has designated, assigned to be the spiritual leader of his home and family. Whether or not he knows this, when he has accepted the Christ as his Savior, that husband has entered into the spiritual realm where God exists. He’s then charged by God with the responsibility of caring for the spirits of his wife and family, as Jesus’ representative. The goal then, (because he has entered into the spiritual realm) is that he becomes increasingly godly and spiritually mature enough that he understands his own human spirit. Thereby, he’s able to understand the mind and spirit of his wife, and women in general, along with his children, and thereby give them the same guidance Jesus would.
Then too, since the Christ has a clear understanding of — is aware of — the human spirit, how it functions, how it’s affected in specific situations; he will know why it’s affected and what will be the emotional effect and resulting causes within a person’s spirit.
Mark 2:8 (KJV) is proof of his spiritual awareness, “And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?” He could read their spirit’s even though they didn’t understand their own spirits.
Also, Luke 7:11-15 (AMP), 11 “Soon afterward Jesus went to a city called Nain [near Nazareth], and His disciples and a large crowd accompanied Him. 12 Now as He approached the city gate, a dead man was being carried out — the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with her [in the funeral procession]. 13 When the Lord saw her, He felt [great] compassion for her.”
In other words, a husband is operating within the spiritual realm where God is and the more that takes place, his spirit is becoming more mature — godlier — like Jesus, the Christ, his Savior, the more he will be able to defeat his sin nature. (See Hebrews 4:15, AMPC especially.)
That’s the mission of Christ Quest Ministries to disciple men to become spiritually mature — exhibiting genuine Christ-like godliness.
