Building Place-Based Learning in Rural Communities |
Desert Dialogues is an 18-month hybrid program for rural informal learning organizations in the West who want to reimagine their work through collaborative, community-centered practice. The High Desert Museum invites teams of 2–3 people (two staff from the informal learning organization plus one community partner) to join a cohort learning journey that includes monthly virtual sessions, two multi-day workshops in Bend, Oregon, and hands-on support to design and implement a program in your own community. Participation is free. We cover all travel expenses and provide a $2,500 stipend for your local program. You'll gain practical skills, build lasting partnerships, and join a regional network of peers working in rural contexts.
Applications are due March 31, 2026.
