| Mitchell Walker Named Dean of College of Engineering |
Following a national search, Georgia Tech has appointed Mitchell L.R. Walker II as the next dean and Southern Company Chair of the College of Engineering, effective June 15. Walker currently serves as the William R.T. Oakes Jr. School Chair in the Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering.

Vertical Flight Society Names Marilyn J. Smith an Honorary Fellow |
The Vertical Flight Society (VFS) has named Professor Marilyn Smith an Honorary Fellow, one of the organization’s highest honors, “for her pioneering contributions to computational rotorcraft aeromechanics and her global leadership in advancing vertical flight.”

| Going the Distance for Women in Aerospace |
Aerospace engineering student Elise Regalado is training for IRONMAN 70.3 Boise in Idaho on July 25 and preparing for a career in aerospace engineering. She is combining both passions to support the next generation of women in the field.
Alongside the race, she has launched a fundraising effort to support scholarships for women pursuing aerospace engineering degrees, a cause she says is deeply personal.

The Office of Technology Licensing has announced the latest recipients of the Tech Ready Grants, an initiative that helps Georgia Tech faculty advance their innovations toward market readiness.
Among the recipients, AE Assistant Professor Christos Athanasiou who is developing a platform to assess material durability under real-world conditions, helping accelerate validation timelines for high-performance applications.
