New “Puffin Plate” Supports Wildlife Rehabilitation Efforts |
We're halfway there--help us reach 3,000!
Once 3,000 vouchers are sold, our new Puffin Plate will go into production—meaning the sooner we reach 3,000, the sooner you’ll have your plates in-hand!
Those wanting to own a puffin plate can now purchase vouchers through the Aquarium’s website. The voucher covers the plate’s $40 surcharge fee, and after the deduction of DMV’s administrative costs, funds will support the Oregon Coast Aquarium’s rehabilitation and conservation efforts.

Oregon Coast Aquarium Receives Donation from Wildlife Warriors |
Last month we received a generous donation from Wildlife Warriors, a non-profit charity founded by Steve and Terri Irwin. Better yet, the donation’s impact was doubled thanks to a recently-awarded matching grant from the Marcia H. Randall Foundation. The Irwin family has strong ties to Oregon, making regular trips to revisit their favorite locales, including the Oregon Coast Aquarium. Wildlife Warriors’ donation will support the construction of our future Marine Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, expanding our capacity for wildlife rehabilitation efforts.
|
Reminder: through December 31, 2024, the Marcia H. Randall Foundation will match all gifts and pledges, up to $500,000, made to our wildlife rehabilitation fund.

We just welcomed a bundle of fluff to our Seabird Aviary! Over the past several weeks, a pair of tufted puffin parents took turns tending their egg in a hidden burrow atop the rocky ledges of our Seabird Aviary. The chick—called a puffling—hatched on July 30. The chick is now behind-the-scenes, receiving care round-the-clock until they are grown enough to join the flock.

Happy Birthday, Party Animals!
|
This month we celebrate Schuster the sea otter’s 14th birthday! We also have a flock of feathered friends to celebrate this month, since summer is seabird hatching season—stop by our Seabird Aviary to say happy birdday to our murres, guillemots, and puffins!
Want to help celebrate some of these birthday animals? Consider shopping our wishlist or making a symbolic adoption! Wishlist items and adoption proceeds directly support the care of our animals.
