Passenger growth climbs for 13th straight month
More and more people are using MEM. New passenger data shows that May 2016 was the 13th consecutive month of year-over-year local traffic growth for the airport. Origination and destination (O&D) enplanements at MEM totaled more than 187,000 in May, a 7.6 percent increase from the same month last year. Local enplanements at MEM through the first 11 months of FY2016 are up by more than 185,000 over the same period last year. A strong showing in June could see annual enplanements eclipse the 2 million mark for the first time since 2012 - the last full year that Delta Air Lines had a hub at MEM.

Q concourse? Interstate BBQ moves to C
Neely’s Interstate BBQ has moved to a new location in the C concourse near gate C-4. Interstate's world famous BBQ sandwiches, ribs, BBQ spaghetti, smoked sausage and other favorites – including breakfast – remain on the menu. The move is part and parcel to the modernization of the B concourse. While the design of B is not final, current plans call for all concessions and airlines to relocate to A and C while B is being modernized. This will cut down on the time of construction. Businesses will move back to B once the work is complete.
MEM goes to Washington
MEM President and CEO Scott Brockman recently joined both mayors Mark Luttrell of Shelby County and Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland, along with members of the Memphis Chamber of Commerce, BNSF, TDOT, and the Aerotropolis Committee on a visit to the U.S. Dept. of Transportation in Washington D.C. to lobby lawmakers for improvements to the Lamar Ave. corridor.
