Beds for Kids Ministry Awarded Grant
The Mississippi Conference Board of Global Ministries has awarded our Beds for Kids Ministry a matching grant of $3,225.00. For every dollar of this grant we spend on this ministry, PHUMC must match the funds dollar for dollar. Your gifts make this ministry possible and give us the assurance to apply for and use matching grants such as these. Thank you for your continued giving and thank you to our ministry chairs Bill Flynn and Cindy Karlson who successfully applied for this award.

Commit to growing your faith as you journey through Advent and Christmas.
You are invited to take some time during the busyness of this season to rest in the presence of God. The worship center will be open from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Monday through Friday, through Wednesday, December 24. Prayer guides will be available. We hope you can find a day and time that will work for you.
Then, pick up our "Christmas Is" devotional prepared by Parkway Hills' clergy and members. This devotional will take you through the twelve days of Christmas as we reflect together on this sacred season within the life of our faith. Devotionals will be available for pickup in the worship center and the office beginning Sunday, December 14.

Join your church family in preparing our hearts for Christmas this Advent by participating in a 3 week study using Walter Brueggemann's book, Names for the Messiah. In Isaiah 9:6, a divine utterance is given to us using four royal titles - Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. We will reflect on each title and how the people understood it then, how Jesus did or did not fulfill the title, and how Christians interpret Jesus as representative of that title. We will meet in the Open Doors room, Room 201 upstairs Ed Building, Thursday, December 4, 11, and 18 at 10:00 am.

We still need ushers, communion servers, and candle lighters for our 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm Christmas Eve services as well as readers for our December 28 Carols and Lessons. PHUMC Women's Ministry has chosen MadCAAP's Holiday Adopt a Child for their Christmas mission. Every year MadCAAP aids with Christmas presents for children whose parents have completed 12 hours of an educational program provided by MadCAAP. This year they had nearly 600 children eligible. We have 10 names left on the tree.
For names that are grouped together from the same family, we ask that you find some partners and work together to provde the gifts and deliver them to MadCAAP together. This will aid MadCAAP as they strive to distribute to over 600 families.
To help, pick an envelope off the tree in the back of the worship center being mindful of the families grouped together. The envelope includes directions and the information of the child/family.
Deliver your wrapped, labeled gifts to MadCAAP Wednesday, December 17: 9:00-3:00; Thursday, December 18: 9:00-4:00, Friday, December 19: 9:00-3:00 or Saturday, December 20: 9:00-Noon. If you need assistance getting your gifts to MadCAAP, let Pastor Dawn know.

Calling all PHUMC College Students!
Parents, let your college student know about our Christmas College Student Catch-up Sunday, December 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 at 3159 West Tidewater Lane in Madison. Let Jennifer Heath know if you plan to attend. Not in college but want to visit with our college students? Come on! Just let Jennifer know so she can adequately prepare.

Parkway Hills UMC will offer Christmas Eve services at 4:00 and 6:00 pm Wednesday, December 24. We will livestream our 4:00 service and will also have a nursery available for this service only. Then join us back at Parkway Hills Sunday, December 28 at 10:45 am to continue to celebrate Christmas with a service of Carols and Lessons. We will have donuts, coffee, and juice available in the worship center, so you may come a little early and fellowship. Children, Bridge, Youth, and Renew Sunday School will not meet.

Bridge had a fun Christmas party celebration at the Pruett home Sunday.
We will have to cancel our Saturday, December 13 community service day at MS Food Network. We will try and reschedule for another month.

Sunday, January 25: Sunday Night Bridge 5:30 to 7:30. Meet in the Bridge room at 5:30 for food, faith development, and fun. Great night to bring a friend.
