2015 Registry Summit All About Relevance

Ohio and Maryland Adopt CPE Nano-learning
As of last month, CPAs from Ohio and Maryland can fulfill their CPE requirements in 10-minute increments. On March 3, it was announced that the Maryland State Board of Public Accountancy unanimously passed new CPE regulations that allow for course content to be delivered in 10-minute increments (known as “nano-learning” or “micro-learning”).  -read more-
What Sponsors Need to Know
I received a request for modification regarding the non-compliance of the course learning objectives. How can I write compliant learning objectives?
The Statement on Standards for Continuing Professional Education Programs (Standards) states specifically that learning activities “must be based on relevant learning objectives and outcomes that clearly articulate the knowledge, skills, and abilities that can be achieved by participants in the learning activities.” -read more-
CPE Standards to go to Exposure Draft
In April 2014, the CPE Standards Working Group began their review and evaluation of the Standards.  In addition to reviewing the Standards in their entirety, the Working Group has considered innovations, trends and techniques in CPE, as well as ideas and suggestions related to clarifications and modifications of the 2012 Standards. -read more-
Transition to New QAS Self Study Designation is Now Complete
The Statement on Standards for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Programs (Standards), revised January 2012, raised the standards for all self study providers and eliminated the differences that previously existed between the QAS and Registry self study requirements. Accordingly, NASBA initiated changes to the administration of these programs to offer one designation for self study programs: QAS Self Study. As a result, all current QAS or Registry self study sponsors, were required to complete a transition process to the QAS Self Study designation to ensure that the revised Standards have been implemented with respect to all self study program offerings. -read more-
