Generative AI for Teaching: A Hands-on Intro |
12:30 pm - 4:30 pm (includes lunch), 320 Laws Hall (limit 25 people)
|
Registration deadline: 12:00 pm Friday, August 15 |
In response to high demand and excellent reviews, we’re excited to offer this workshop again. New (or relatively new) AI users will engage strategies to facilitate their work as teachers and investigate useful strategies for supporting students’ learning, including guided, discipline-specific, and personalized exploration and experimentation with GenAI in this hands-on, in-person workshop.
Here’s what past participants had to say:
“I think this seminar was spot-on—flow was good, the breaks/pauses were strategic, and the dialogue was helpful.”
“The practical knowledge of how to create powerful prompts plus the thoughtfulness of when and how to use [Gen AI] in the classroom….”

These practices, respectively, enhance engagement and critical thinking, build trust, cultivate a sense of belonging, and improve motivation and well-being. Together, they create more humane and transformative learning environments.
