Working Together to Elevate Radford University to New Heights |
|
|
As we begin the new year, it’s a perfect time to reflect on the outstanding work done across the university to refresh our visual brands, update our marketing and student recruitment materials, communicate with our communities on campus, in Roanoke and beyond, and much more.
As you may be aware, Marketing and Communication has been using an online project management software called Lytho over the past year. At the end of the 2023 calendar year, Lytho provided us with a summary of the projects we’ve worked on with you in the last 12 months. The numbers are truly amazing, and we want to share them with you, as well as our heartfelt thank you for helping us elevate Radford University to greater heights every day.

Changes to the Library Search Interface |
SuperSearch is the search box on the Radford University Library’s homepage. A change has been made to the way you access SuperSearch from off campus that greatly increases the number of articles and other library resources that you can find in it. If you are using SuperSearch from off campus, you will now need to do one of the following after you type in your search terms and click enter:
|
|
|
-
Option 1: Login with your My Library account. If you do not have a My Library account, you will need to create one. The instructions for this can be found in this guide.
-
Option 2: Click on the “continue as guest” button. Once you click to view the full text of an item, you will be prompted to login with your Radford University username and password.
-
Option 3: Use the campus VPN. Using the campus VPN will bypass the need to login with your My Library account. However, it is not available for use on mobile devices.
-
Option 4: Use the A-Z Databases to search a specific database, where you will be prompted to login with your Radford username and password.

Information Technology Services Training Opportunities |
|
|
Ever wondered if there is a simpler way to sort data in an Excel spreadsheet? Would you like to learn how to communicate in the office using Microsoft Teams? Did you know D2L’s gradebook is now integrated with Banner? Have you wondered how to use Qualtrics to collect and analyze data?
Academic Technologies is offering training sessions for a variety of technologies geared towards those simple tasks that have become not-so-simple. This semester, we introduce a once-a-month opportunity to speak to a panel of our information technology trainers called AMAs (Ask Me Anything) on a specific technology topic! Click on the corresponding link to register for one of these training sessions. All sessions will be held in Walker Hall 275, with the option to join remotely.
We hope you will join us for one of our training sessions. For questions, contact Academic Technologies at acadcomp@radford.edu or 540-831-7521.
