| Balancing Algorithms and Tech in Math Learning - Research Summary |
Integrating advanced technologies like CAS in mathematics classrooms requires careful ethical consideration to ensure fairness, access, and meaningful learning alongside traditional methods. Learn more with CSU student, Katia Simon about Usiskin, Z. (2012) paper, "the ethics of using advanced technologies in a CCSSM environment."
Similar to Katia's report, The National Council of Supervisor's of Mathematics has recently published a document to support mathematics education leaders in thoughtfully integrating technology and AI by emphasizing equity, student reasoning, teacher autonomy, and instructional integrity rather than focusing on specific tools. It provides frameworks, evaluation rubrics, and resources to ensure technology enhances student thinking and empowers teachers instead of replacing their roles.
